[John Hino]

"But it can be a tasty one," he smiled.

"I suppose. Just...strange. I'm not even sure how someone would think of something like this" she said, turning the sandwich over again several times.

"It's genius?" He shrugged.

[Ayami Morita]

"It's lunacy" she said, taking a bite.

"...it's fairly tasty lunacy."

[John Hino]

"All the best geniuses are lunatics."

[Ayami Morita]

"And vice-versa, I suppose."

[John Hino]

"Of course, it's best to be neither."

"I don't know, a fair amount of mental chaos can be quite beneifical, I find..."

"Indeed, pure Order is no better than pure Chaos."

"Well, here's to a little bit of chaos then", Ayami grinned.

"Here here," he chuckled.

"Honestly," she said, "it's hard sometimes NOT actually causing the chaos. It'd be just so easy..."

She flashed a grin.

"Heh. I'm not THAT evil, though."

"If it's too easy it isn't any fun is it?" he smirked.

Remembering her experience with Teri in the bar, Ayami gave a wicked grin. "You're right. The challenge is half the fun."

"Ooo, you're scaring me now," he laughed.

"Nah, if I wanted you to be scared, I could do that, couldn't I?" Ayami laughed.

[John Hino]

"Yes, you could at that."

[Ayami Morita]

"Buuuuuuut I won't. No fun to see you cower in terror, ne?"

"I'd hope not."

"No, no. That's not what friends do, right? Terror's for people who bug me."

"I'm glad we are friends then."

"So am I", Ayami smiled back.

[Teri Napliotis]

Ryan shrugged. "I don't mind, but there's not a lot I can tell. My sister hears voices from people's minds. And sees people's dreams. At least... that's what we can gather from what she says. She's only three, so she isn't exactly a great source of description on the subject."

"Other people's thoughts? That must be annoying to say the least. Our own can be distracting enough sometimes, we don't want to know how irritating other people's would get."

"I don't think it's something I'd want to deal with," Ryan admitted. "I can't say what it must be like, though."

"If she's only 3 maybe she's confused about what are her own thoughts and what aren't. Could be why she doesn't like psi-shielded rooms. If we understand the word right it might be taking away 'her' thoughts.

But hey, she might be better off thanks to it later. If she's experiencing it now already it'll just be normal for her when she grows up, right?"

"It might be," Ryan said, evasively. "Again... we can only guess what she's going through." Still, after the idea that she might not know what her thoughts were opposed to other people, Ryan wasn't looking quite as comfortable with the idea anymore.

Teri peers at Ryan. "We're sorry, we didn't mean to worry you with that. We just find the idea of a mind composed of lots different people's thoughts intruiging. We're sure she'll find a way to discern herself from it if that's what's even the case."

She tries to smile reassuringly and fails miserably. Not so much because she doesn't believe what she just said and more because she doesn't quite seem to have the hang of that paticular expression.

"At three, its unlikely that she's picking up more than surface thoughts and emotions." Rachel said thoughtfully "But if she's always aware of the presence of other people in the house, being stuck in a psi-shielded room would be like being locked in a dark closet."

Teri shrugs slightly. "We don't know much about those kind of things. We just know that having lots of different thoughts in your head isn't as bad as it sounds." She takes another shot at a reassuring smile, getting a bit closer to pulling it off this time.

"I've been there. I had not as much as seen another mutant until I arrived at the Academy. Well, with my own eyes anyway."

"Mmmhmm. I mean, I've watched them on TV and everything...but it's different. It even FEELS different."

"We guess it's a big difference when they're all actually your own thoughts..."

"You could say that, yes. It's an entirely different atmosphere here...I don't know how much of that is Mutants, and how much of that is England, though."
