May 17th - Danger Room - Not just a river in Egypt

Samantha was dressed in her unstable molecule uniform, as she had an inkling she might want to shift at some point during the scenario. The Danger Room had its privacy controls engaged, the observation deck shuttered and entry barred to any but Nailah. No scenario had been queued yet, as Samantha was going to let Nailah choose what she was comfortable with.

Nailah still hadn't picked up any kind of uniform because, frankly, why bother. The fact that when she tried one on it looked rather ridiculous may have also played a part in this. So when she stepped into the Danger Room she was wearing the same movement-granting robes she had worn back when she had first tried out the room.

Noting the lack of a scenario she walks over to Sam. "I think I am going to go with something you'd suggest. You're the 'professional' in this field compared to me."

"Depends on what your comfort level is. We could try another hunting scenario, we could try to recreate the temple in your mind, any number of things, really."

"Alright. I'm going to open up the interface to accept mental input, and I'll put in the parts I've seen."

She tapped a few buttons on the holographic console, and shortly afterward the courtyard of the temple took shape around them, a rather faithful recreation.

"Familiar I'm more than happy with. Don't be afraid to change the details of the scenario around if you want to, though." She followed Nailah onto the temple steps.

"This part I do remember..." she says as she brushes the curtain to the side and steps through the door. "That isn't quite right though." she adds once she notices the pillows that had mirrored her hospital bed when Sam had brought here here. After a quick reconfiguration most of them vanish.

"Otherwise... No, everything else seems right. But other than that it's familiar... Maybe in the sanctum, but I already have a recreation of that in my living room." she shrugs, but walks towards the door leading there anyway.

"Okay this makes no sense though." Nailah says as she looks at the other Sphinx sitting in the middle of the room on crossed legs, eyes closed, that the Danger Room apparently modeled after Nailah's thoughts at the moment.

The descend along the slope is a little rough in places, but unspectacular for the most part. When they reach the bottom the enormous cave opens up. Unlike the other time Sam was here though, there mirrors seem foggy, some of it even leaking out of them and into the labyrinth. Looking closely there are still shapes moving inside the mist, but it seems the Danger Room's systems aren't quite picking up the images.

"Well that's disappointing and a relief at the same time..."

"Probably..." she says, slowly wandering along one of the paths, trying to see if she can make out what's going on inside the mirrors. "But this certainly is much more bearable than the endless stream of impressions."

"I suppose. Though probably not worth... exploring..." Her words kind of drawl out and as she blankly stares into nothing something seems to happen inside the cavern. It's hard to tell at first but some of the mirrors seem to be 'tuning in'. They're still foggy though and it's hard to make out details. The ones that 'activated' all seem to show variations of the same basic scene though, two figures, one with red, the other with black hair.

Nailah certainly seems to be trying to stay vivid enough to at least get a couple of words out.

"No... maybe... doesn't feel like us..."

Meanwhile there seems to be hurried movement in the mirrors, it's hard to tell what exactly is going on, but it seems to be some kind of struggle with varying results. Oddly enough the black-haired figure only seems to have wings in some of the 'versions'.

"Alternate futures... possibilities..." she mumbles.

The figures in the mirrors continue their play, in some one or the other seems to eventually win, in others there seems to be no fighting at all.

Now the images quickly begin deviating from each other more and more, losing focus in the process as more shapes move into view, two, maybe three others, it's hard to tell between the different views. In a few there are glimpses of a second red-head before the image fogs up too much.
