Issue 10 - Deploying Reinforcements (renamed thread)

Postby Narrator » Thu Apr 12, 2012 2:36 pm

As the Blackbird returned, a maintenance team was on hand, as usual. A bit unusually, though, as soon as the plane came to a halt, they were running out there like mad to get the plane refueled and ready to go again. Apparently, this mess wasn't over yet. A call went out to available off-duty X-Men to report to the hanger for deployment.

Nailah is standing in the hangar (and has been since just before the Blackbird reported in as returning), sword hanging from her hip, patiently waiting for maintenance to get the plane ready again.

John, decked out in uniform, joined them.

"Somehow I feel under-equipped."

"You know," Ms. McManus said from the doorway, "you've gone mad if you think I'm just going to let you bugger off across the ocean to fight that dusty bastard."

She giggled. "Well, I'm gonna chalk that up to good ol' common sense when that team was made. It worked well for what we were up against."

She looked around at the others. "Speaking of that, just what's the mission now anyway?"

Rick walked in next, all geared up, though he did still have dark circles under his eyes.

"Great, I've always wanted to see The Sphinx." He glanced at Nailah. "Aside from the one in present company. Ma'am."

After he dropped off Mary, Marcus entered. He caught the end of what Ms. McManus said. "Really..? Why in front of the high school?" He sounded agitated.

It was Renko who showed up at the Blackbird. Looking a little disheveled as he finished closing up his X-Team uniform.

Sean sat down against one of the walls while they waited for the maintenance routine on the Blackbird to be finished. He was wearing his own uniform rather than the X-Man one.

Wanda, dressed in her training uniform, tapped Samantha on the shoulder. "Miss McManus, can I come help?" She seemed a little intimidated by the whole situation, odd for someone her size, but determined all the same.

Re: Issue 10 - Deploying Reinforcements (renamed thread)

Postby Michael Asters » Fri Apr 13, 2012 3:30 pm

That should be everyone for now, Cassiel's message came to, at the very least, the teacher's minds. "I'll deploy anyone else who becomes available. Right now I've cleared the airspace around the school, you're clear to take off."

((ooc note: Flying across the Atlantic takes time. The reinforcement teams will arrive at XI a decently dramatic time after fighting there actually begins))
