Running Wild(Open to public)

Postby Tala Davis » Tue Jul 19, 2011 11:29 pm

Tala lead the way to a wooded section leading just off campus, it looked like a small walking park.

"I think this should be good. Set the crate down and open it up, it's the fuzzies for tonight. I'll give them a "poke" to get them running then we can head out after we stow the coop and anything we need to." She jiggled the leashes lightly.

"Sounds good. We can wander around and keep our eyes, ears and noses peeled for anyone who might take exception to our little hunt," she laughed.

She moved over to a low hedge and slipped off her shoes.

"Let them go and we can put things in it , lock it and stuff it here."

She knelt down and got ready to unhook the two smaller predators.

Steph kicked off her shoes and put her phone into one of them.

"Sounds like a plan. Most of what I have will shift with me, if I happen to need to shift all the way."

She waited for Steph to open the rabbit coop, then she gave the tow a shot of fear that sent them bolting. She slowly counted to 5 and let Ren and Aolani loose, she carefully tucked their things into the now empty coop and pushed it into the hedge.

"And, now we're off." She changed and ran in the direction of the animals.

Chloe, in bird form, was sitting on a branch, preening her feathers.

Stephanie shifted slightly to really pull out her senses a bit and ran after Tala. Chloe was either downwind of Steph, or she was too distracted by trying to tell her other half that she'd get to hunt on her own later to notice her.

Tala spotted Chloe and paused to check around the tree. Satisfied that Aolani hadn't change course and climbed up after the small colorful bird who smelled of human, she nosed back to look for the trail.

There was something... odd about the sense of him. Though wingless, there was still something gracefully avian about the way he moved, or even the way he stood still. Right now, he was perched, crouching, in a tree, faintly glowing eyes focused on those below, somehow seeming to pick out the forms of the mutants, as well as the animals, that flitted along the ground.

Stephanie smelled someone familiar...very familiar...and slowed down, scanning her surroundings. Stephanie bit her lip as she decided whether or not to say anything, or really try to find him.

You buried the hatchet with Bear...but you still haven't even talked to Gabriel once. And still have managed to mostly avoid Rachel...is it really worth even stopping?

Her indecision betrayed her--Ryan would clearly notice that she'd spotted him, and he knew her well enough to know that she was just pretending to have missed him. She also, rather uncharacteristically, ran straight into a tree nearby at a light jog.

Tala was close behind and managed to miss both Steph and tree, but she did pause. Crouch and head tilted she looked at the other female in complete confusion.

"Can't stop she-wolf. Up."

Steph shook her head to clear it, but remained on the ground. "God....bless America," she ...cursed?

"Not sure how I managed that," she sighed before doing a kick-up to get back on her feet. "I'm coming," she said, breaking back into a jog in the direction they were going before.

Chloe, meanwhile, had taken wing and was flying in and out between the trees.

Tala more or less ignored the little bird, it was safe unless it came lower or if it landed and Aolani took notice.

For Ryan and Chloe, if she was paying attention to the ground, it was a great show, four animals running this way and that through the underbrush, the smaller female mutant on all fours trying to follow as directly as she could, the larger female crashing into a tree.

It was getting hard to keep up with the animals and Tala while not fully shifted. Though strong and fast while still mostly human, she didn't have anything on the rest of them. Gritting her teeth against making the change happen quickly, she transformed with a snarl into her werewolf form and gained quite a bit of speed. This was much easier.

Chloe continued to follow along roughly the same path as the rest, weaving around trees.

Above them, Ryan leapt from tree to tree, catching and holding on easily, even when it seemed there wasn't a good purchase for him to grab on. He seemed to be covering the distance as quickly as they were, and rather disconcertingly, seemed good at not being seen, other than by the tree limbs moving under him.

Almost like the hunters were being stalked as well.

"Have an audience," she growled as she pulled up next to Tala. "Think they can take care of themselves. Gabriel at least."

"Good..she-fox has hers..we follow cloud-cat." She answered in between breaths.

"Smart bird, safe for now." She turned to the right picking up the large cat's trail.

Stephanie sniffed to make sure she had the scent of the cat as well, and ran alongside Tala. One would have to admit that the two shifters certainly looked impressive while out in their own element, dashing through the wooded park, looking entirely like predators themselves, even when they weren't really on a hunt.
