"But wouldn't you have known who I was?"

[Nailah Weaver]

"I don't know... Would she have had a reason to let me remember you?" she wonders, the thought sending a cold shiver down her spine.

[Samantha McManus]

"If she'd intended to enslave us all..."

[Nailah Weaver]

"I don't know. But it makes about as much sense as anything."

And it'd mean we could stop worrying...

[Samantha McManus]

"I don't think we're ever going to stop worrying, love," she said as she answered the unspoken thought. "Perhaps not about this, but it'll always be something, aye?"

[Nailah Weaver]

"You're probably right..."

[Samantha McManus]

"Just means we're alive."

[Nailah Weaver]

Nailah chuckles faintly. "Right."

"I just want to avoid worrying all the time." she adds with a smile.

[Samantha McManus]

"Nobody wants to worry, aye? But you and I can see more than most."

[Nailah Weaver]

"No denying that. Maybe one day it'll work to our advantage." she chuckles.

[Samantha McManus]

"Mathematically, it would almost have to, aye?"

[Nailah Weaver]

"Well as you saw, they're not always bad. Recently... well... I like to believe the best thing already happened to me so maybe there's just not much to predict there right now." she smiles.

She laughed.

"Corny, but I'll take it."

[Nailah Weaver]

"When you read the last pages... You have to keep your optimism somehow, as corny as it may be."

[Samantha McManus]

"I think it shows that you're a shameless flatterer, but again I'll take it."

"By the by, you look lovely tonight."

[Nailah Weaver]

"Why thank you. Good to hear the effort was not wasted." she smiles, straightening out her wings.

"All the better to go dancing, aye?"

[Nailah Weaver]

"You're the expert." she smirks. "But yes, I think we might turn some heads tonight."

[Samantha McManus]

"We should, I'm packing a weapons-grade little black dress," she smirked.

[Nailah Weaver]

"I'm not sure if that's going to make me jealous or boastful, but I think I'll go with the later." she grins.

[Samantha McManus]

"They're not hard to acquire, aye?"

[Nailah Weaver]

"Oh I don't mean jealous of the dress." she chuckles. "It looks much better on you anyway."

"Suppose there's certain liabilities involved with short hemlines and tails."

[Nailah Weaver]

"Something like that never happened and you can't prove a thing." she laughs. "Thank goodness for low-cut backs though."

[Samantha McManus]

"I concur, for entirely separate and distinct reasons."

[Nailah Weaver]

Nailah smiles and holds out her arm. "Shall we then, Miss McManus?"

[Samantha McManus]

"Aye, just try and stop me," she chuckled as they headed out the door.

[Nailah Weaver]

"Now I'm worried." she laughs as she closes the door behind them.
