I1DT - Time, It Took Us

Miranda sat on the end of one of the small docks, her physical gaze cast out over the water. She was wearing one of her hoodies again with the hood pulled down over her eyes. She sighed and shoved her hands into the hoodie's pockets and ignored the occasional sprays of water.

"There you are. I've been looking all over for you." Kay says as she walks up to where Miranda is sitting. Despite the somewhat chilly weather she's wearing a thin blouse and a skirt, apparently insistent on making the summer last. "Mind if I sit down?"

Kay shakes her head a little. It always spooks her a little when Miranda does something like that, even though she realizes that it shouldn't. "You look kinda bummed out..." she says, sitting down next to her. "Everything alright?"

"Had a fight with Mom. Apparently I'm not supposed to keep secrets, but it's perfectly alright for her to keep them." She sighs, "You look nice."

"Thanks... That sounds like a lot of bollocks." she says with the pronunciation of someone who is trying to pick up a new word because it's 'British' and cool and sounding kind of silly. "Parents can be pretty dumb sometimes. Guess that's kinda new to you, huh?"

"I'm glad someone agrees with me. I doubt Mum does. She was there, so she's probably mad that I stormed out or something ridiculous. Guessing I won't have any family obligations for a while."
