Any of the more psychic people around the lighthouse would notice a very heavy, almost ominous presence atop it. Others in the area might also get a more unspecific willies.
Mira sat atop the lighthouse, looking over the ocean. Frowning.

He didn't exactly glow as he approached. He'd learned enough now to hide that under his clothes when he wanted while he was flying. Still, he probably registered as bright as anything to Mira as he floated up to the top of the lighthouse. Huh. So that's how the Phoenix 'looks' when I'm 'looking'...
He regarded her for a moment as drifted down. "You feel something... off, too?" Or are you what I'm feeling that's off.

"Off? Other than the seam between worlds here, you mean?"

"Kind of used to that by now," he said, setting down on the edge of the roof. He shook his head. "Just... something feels off. THis is usually a good spot to see what it is." Not that I'm paranoid about the ocean, not at all...

"I suppose it probably IS me, then. I should brood elsewhere."

"No, I'm pretty sure that this is the multipurpose brood spot, too," he said.
"Anything in particular that's being brooded over?"

"You really want to understand the contemplations of the Phoenix, sitting on the edge of tears in reality?
..It is Kevin. He is a butt."

"A butt? Huh. You tell me he's a clown or a dufus, I could understand what you're talking about, unless..." Ryan narrowed his eyes. "He's not cheating on you, is he?"

Altamira sighed. "I don't believe HE knows."

"Kevin? No way!"
Bear had opened the hatch to the roof, wincing as she stretched out her throwing arm.

"I hadn't noticed."
Bear rubbed her temples, obviously recovering from a sudden, unexplained headache.

"Okay, not that I have a lot of experience with it, but... how do you cheat on someone without knowing it?"

"He has spent a lot of time...seeking the favor...of another.
I don't think he understands, even after it was explained to him, what he has done."

"Soooo... you're jealous and he isn't fixing that." Ryan couldn't help smirking a bit knowingly.

"It isn't proper," she "corrected". "The Phoenix does not get jealous."
The Phoenix may also have a bridge to sell you.

"Of coruse not," Ryan said, fighting back a smirk. "But the Phoenix, I suppose, might behave like that in her need to blend in with all of the common human's she's forced to cohabit with. In which case it's completely improper for him to not respond to her efforts."

"Time to be honest with him, Mira. Tell him you are jealous, but build him up while you do so. Then brand him. No, skip that."
Bear smiled.

"Okay, so anyway," Ryan said, moving along from the branding subject. "Want me to rough him up? Stepping out on your girl is pretty damn low," Ryan joked. Well, mostly joked.

Mira seemed to seriously consider this for a moment.
"No," she sighed, at last. "I'm afraid it wouldn't work."

"Kevin, I do not like you paying so much attention to other girls. Please stop."

"The tendency of guys to convince themselves that any wiggle room in what you say means you don't mean it in any way that means they have to stop what they're doing."
"In other words, the way that guys can be stupid."
