Emily was in the Danger Room. The rules mandated a certain amount of power practice each week. And so she was in a training outfit going through the physical agility course.
It was a bit easier when you didn't have any bones or organs.

Mizuki was watching from the observation deck, sitting Indian style. Wow, she's good. She thought to herself, munching on a pbj. She didn't speak up, as she didn't want to interrupt. As curious as she was, she continued watching closely. Observing on an observation deck. Who would have thought?

Emily stops when she realizes she's being watched and looks up towards the deck, "Did you need something, ma'am?"

Mizuki looks behind her, expecting Emily to have been addressing someone else. When she sees no one, she looks back to Emily and points to herself. "Me?"

"You need yourself? An interesting request, ma'am," Emily says. "I will have to give some thought about how to fulfill it."

"Wait...no that's not what I meant. I didn't realize you were talking to me. I don't need anything, I was just watching. You're pretty awesome."

"Thank you for noticing," Emily says. "You seem to do an excellent job of watching people as well. Have you considered pursuing it professionally?"

"Whoa, I didn't mean to offend you, jeez. I can leave." She seemed to think Emily was being sarcastic.

"Please do not mistake me, ma'am. I am not offended at all by your admiration of my abilities," Emily says. "A bit confused, perhaps. I am not used to flattery during training."

"Oh. You're not? Well you were doing some pretty cool stuff. How do you move like that?"

"I make sure to stretch before my workouts, ma'am," Emily says. "It also helps that my body is not made of tissue or organs, but a complex biosynthetic polymer of variable viscoelasticity."

Mizuki blinks a few times after hearing that. "So uh... You're just really stretchy? Is that what that means? Wait...no organs? How the heck do you breathe? Or live, for that matter? Are you some sort of AI?"

"No, I am naturally intelligent, ma'am," Emily says. "As for the rest, it is one of life's great mysteries. 'Who are we?', 'Where are we going?', 'How can this girl feel things without a nervous system?' All the age-old questions."

"Well, I can answer two of those! I'm Mizuki Hino. Nice to meet you. As far as where I'm personally going, I'd imagine dinner and then my room later on. What about you?"

"My name is Emily, ma'am," Emily says. She bows politely. "I have training from 4:30 to 5:30. Afterwards, I am allowed 45 minutes for dinner. From 6:15 to 8:15 I have schoolwork and my studies. From 8:15 to 9:15 I will be attending to household chores and laundry. After that, I am free to pursue my own interests until it is time for bed."
"It is all very exciting."

"I was briefly undergoing intense psychiatric care," Emily says. "Before that I was in a container vat in a laboratory."
Emily frowns, "...I realize how that sounds."

Mizuki laughed, taking it as a joke. "Well you do a great job at hiding it, I think. You seem kinda weird, but you're pretty cool I think. So you come here every day?"

"I like coming here to practice. I really don't have a set schedule to it, but just when I feel up to it, I guess. Other than that I kinda just hang out in the common room or my room."

"Sure, why not? I don't see what harm it could do. Besides, I haven't practiced with someone in a while. You can only do so much on your own," she points out, making her way down from the observation deck. "Computer, insert user Mizuki Hino, randomized team scenario, level two." She straightened out her training jacket once she made it to the training area as the computer processed things. "Level one is so boring."

"Low-powered Opponents Scenario initiated." the computer chimes in and the current layout shimmers and disappears, replaced by an urban environment.
"A silent alarm has been sounded at First National Bank, indicating an attack in progress. Potential hostage situation. You have been dispatched to handle the situation."

"Oh well this could get interesting. Hm, if it's a silent alarm, then they likely don't know anyone is coming. However, robbing a bank, I'm sure they expect someone would be coming anyway and probably counted on a silent alarm. They just don't know *who* would be on their way," Mizuki says, chipper. "That can be used to our advantage. Potential hostages...that's going to be a pain. We could distract them somehow."
