Kevin stood by Caledfwlch, head tilted in curious study of the sword. He was also sucking his finger after trying to touch the water shielding it, because of course he did.

The water sort of moved in a circular fashion around and up the blade only to move back down the same way. The water was cool and pure to the taste and touch, but as he stood there looking Vivienne came running up the path looking slightly panicked. "Oh! You are not the thief.." She stopped and composed herself.

Kevin faced her, looking apologetic though slightly perplexed.

"Sorry! I know I shouldn't touch, but... it's just so cool!" he grinned, "Pun semi-intended."

"No harm was done. I placed a protective ward around it to alert me if it was touched. Please forgive my abrupt arrival." She smiled and bowed slightly in greeting. "I am Vivienne and that is Caledfwlch, my sword."

"I'm Kevin and..."

Wait wait wait... Isn't that Welsh for Excalibur? If she's the Tuatha chick then... holy shit...

His eyes lit up. "No way..."

Her brow lifted in confusion. "A pleasure to meet you Kevin. Is something wrong?"

"The Excalibur?"

Vivienne looked shocked and blinked a few times. "Yes...in a way, however, the one called Sackville has the blade by that name."

"Unfortunately." She stepped over to the sword and touched the hilt. The water came to her, flowing up her arm.

Nerdgasm. Incoming.

"A what?" She placed the water back around the sword.

"Television reference. Sorry. Just someone who can manipulate water."

"Oh, I see, I have not experienced television yet. In truth, from what I have seen in passing, I am actively avoiding it." She smiled.

She's cute when she smiles. Hot even. Ack! No! Bad Kevin!

"Oh most of it's horrible. You pretty much have to know what you're looking for."

"And since I do not, I think it best to continue avoiding the device. I have more then enough new devices to occupy my time and several hundred years of history to catch up on first before I attempt to delve in to modern popular culture."

"Only if you rely on anything that's happened in the last...eight, nine hundred years as a frame of reference." She gave a little shrug.

"So... you're good with a sword then?"

"A lady may set the terms if she is of high enough...value. I have no brothers and no father to act as my champion, so I act as my own."

"You may use any blade you desire. Though I do no give my word that I will not taunt you if you come at me with a rapier. A favorite of the younger generation of Fey lordlings."

"Well... the thing is, my selection of actual physical blades that are fit to fight with borders on zero. The one that is most certainly couldn't stand up to yours. The Danger Room could provide, or we could risk a try with my energy sword. I'd like to think it couldn't damage Ex... err... Caledfwlch. Especially if I don't go all out making it."

"As impressive as it may be for you to be able to say you faced Caledfwlch, it would not be appropriate to use it in a simple sparing. It would be unfair to you and not a true even test of our skill. If the Danger Room can provide us with blades then I think it would be more enjoyable."

"I can not. No one comes in, no one goes out. It is fey politics. A combination of several things made them lift the barrier to allow me to come here." There was a bit of an edge to her voice as she spoke about the 'fey politics'.
