There are FOUR lights!

The site of the recently restored Braddock Lighthouse. Aircraft hangars and other X-Men facilities, including a Cerebra unit and the Danger Room have been constructed around the foundations of the lighthouse.

There are FOUR lights!

Ryan had had the Lemurians brought to the fishbowl-tanks that would hold them, and had submitted that they needed to be kept sedated and unconscious. And then he'd sent out a request for a telepathic probe to be arranged.

He walked into the detention center to see if any of it had been done.

Melissa was settled into a chair in the room, watching the two sedated Lemurians quietly. She looked up when Ryan came in, rising slowly. "Seraph," she said with a nod.

Vivienne stepped in behind Ryan, taking point guard at the door, her hands resting on the top of Caledfwlch's pummle.

Ryan, a little surprised, took it in stride. "Bastion," he answered with a smile in greeting. "I saw you were coming, I didn't know you were already here. Did they tell you what's going on?"

"I've been keeping a low profile. They only said they needed a telepath and the subjects might be on a suicide switch," she said, "They didn't say they weren't human."

"Sorry about that," he said. "They... should be close enough that you don't have any problems. We've been having a problem with Lemurians. They've been trying to abduct one of our students for some religious sacrifice, and they're claiming we stole something," Ryan explained, deciding to just hit the high points. "The last one triggered some mental self-destruct when we interrogated him. That's why I had these ones sedated."

"All right... but drop us out if you need to, I don't want to make things too hard for you," Ryan said, then he looked back at Vivien. "Assuming you want to have a look too?"

"Okay, let me get settled and we'll get started," she said, settling into her chair again and leaning back. She reached out and touched Ryan's mind gently, making sure the connection was secure before probing at one of the Lemurian's minds, trying to find a way to disguise them as something that belonged there.

They slip into his mindscape in the shape of whatever marine life fits their usual astral self the most, floating in what appears to be a city built into the side of a cliff. The cliffside is faintly illuminated by lamps that glow in a blue-green hue, covering the whole scene in a gloomy atmosphere. Everything seems to be quiet.

Melissa, disguised as a common thresher shark swims slowly towards the city, keeping her eyes open for trouble. Any idea what we're looking for?

Ryan looked about them at the city. "Well, these are religious fanatics. So I think we want a temple. It's a snake god, so that'll probably play a lot into the design."

Temple of the underwater snake god it is then. Melissa began swimming faster, looking for the temple.

There's certainly a building (or the front of one) that seems like it'd fit the bill. Numerous snakes are hewn in a rough circle, entangled, all baring their fangs. In the middle an entrance leads into what represents the Lemurian's religious ideals and concepts. The water in here seems to have a faint brown-red taint to it. A priest of some sort is standing in front of an altar, praying.

Melissa swam closer, trying to get a sense of the priest and his prayer before committing to the memory.

It seems to be not so much a single memory and more of a conglomerate of different ones, all pertaining in some way to the worship of Set. When she approaches the priest turns around to face them.

"Yes?"

Ryan reminded himself that this wasn't an actual person, but a mental construct. There were times when he was glad he wasn't a psychic. Most of them, really. "We wish to know of the girl, who's escaped to the world of air," he said. "Why must- why does Set require her?"

"Her banishment to the world of Air is not enough?" Ryan pressed, trying to keep himself in the mindset. But there was one question that kept burning in his mind. "What of the coral of the depths?" he added, wondering if he could actually get an answer what the hell he was supposed to have stolen.

"What is it, Honored One? How will we know it when we sieze it from the usurpers?" Ryan found it difficult keeping his words phrased like a supplicant instead of an interrogator through an irrational burning in the back of his mind.

Ryan blinked at that. There were many questions, tactical questions, their forces, their plans, all that they needed to know. But his thoughts raced down his memories, and he just couldn't seem to form the questions. Oh god, I... maybe I did steal it...

Still... he couldn't just stop there. "But when shall we do this, honored one? Do we make our enemies know our might?"

Ryan looked disappointed at that, drawing back a little. "So they're just going to keep sitting there waiting? Seriously? Damn it," he muttered. He tried to think about if there was any way to get more information out of them.
