Issue 1 Downtime

After getting the e-mail, Miranda wandered down to the beach below the lighthouse. It seemed a little odd to her, but she trusted Will. Aria was kind of strange after all and obviously hiding a lot of things.

Will was sitting out on an old dock, staring off into the sea.

"Miranda. I'm so glad you could come."

Miranda walked up behind him, rolling her phone around in her hand absently. "I came because you asked me. What's this about my little sister?"

"'Little' sister," Will scoffed. "I'm sure that's what she wants you to think.

Before I go any further---does she know you're here? Or did you tell anyone else you were coming, who she could hear it from? I want to make sure the grapevine is securely closed before divulging this to you."

Miranda thumbs her phone on, looking at the send list on the e-mail again. "Nope, you were pretty clear in your e-mail that you didn't want her finding out."

"Put that away!" Will hissed.

Miranda turned her 'gaze' back to him. "No. Tell me why I'm here."

"To talk about your sister. Hang up the phone, Miranda."

Miranda pushed the power button on the phone to put it to sleep without closing the e-mail app. "So we're here to talk. Talk."

Will reached into his shirt pocket, as if he was pulling out some information. His hand came out empty, however, pointing at Miranda--and a yellowish gas fired itself straight at her!

Miranda flapped her wings forward to try and blow the gas away. As she did, she tossed her phone back behind her. Unfortunately for her, the forward flap actually trapped some of the gas between her wings and her face.

Will walked forward at the flaling Miranda and chopped, hard, at a nerve on her neck, to try to knock her out entirely.

Miranda dropped like a sack of feathered potatoes.

Will quickly picked up the phone, and then Miranda.

Shimmering out from a cloak, a speedboat approached the docks. Will quickly boarded it with Miranda, and the boat sped off into the distance, cloaking again. The boat remained in sight for maybe 15 seconds.
