"Hrrrmmmfff." Nash takes a step back, being caught off guard.
Nash takes a deep breath and then exhales. "Hello Ashlie."

“It's okay, I just wasn't expecting that.” Nash said as he walked inside.

"Then I won't apologize." she smiles. "You said you had an answer to my inquiry?"

“Answers would be more correct, there are multiple elements to it.”
Nash opened a control panel to the Danger Room and scrolled trough some options.

She sits down at the table.
"Is the furniture part of the answers?"

"No, this just might take awhile so I thought i'd sit down somewhere."

"Right. Your muscular system is very energy inefficient."

"Well, lets get started. As said earlier, there are multiple answers to your question. The way people react to other people has a lot to do with who they are reacting to, I guess you could say this is a single answer, but this itself has multiple sub-components."

"I understand that. People reacted to the new persona I created. Why did that reaction not transfer over fully?"

"While this is over simplifying it, think of it as if people put people in categories that determine how they deal with people, and any one person is likely in multiple categories. Part of the problem you've experienced is you changed multiple categories at once."

"Please explain those categories."

"One of the categories would be a persons position, for instance here you could divide almost everyone into to either the students or faculty categories. You could then divide students into XI or XU students, and the faculty into categories for the particular job they do. In your case you went from from a XI student to faculty."

"I am not faculty. I don't teach classes or hold any authority over students."

"Maybe faculty is the wrong term, but you do work for the school don't you?"

"Technically I only answer to the Starlight Citadel and the Corpsmen."

Nash bent his head down and put his hands to his face. It would be a bit before he would respond again.

"No, its just explaining this is harder than I expected. Having to rethink my approach."

"Hmmm..." Nash looked back up. "You could tell me in what ways you've noticed people treating you differently."

"Most people now treat me as an object again. Patent Number 381913, the leader of the X-Teams specifically emphasized that I'm a 'thing and therefor not a person'."

Will really said that?
"Could you explain some of the ways people are treating you like an object."

"They don't acknowledge my presence unless they want something. They assume I won't understand certain concepts and they are only correct occasionally. They assume I am property of the school."

"I was going to get to the point where I mentioned that most people aren't at all familiar with sentient AIs. When they assumed you were a mutant girl then it was easy, they knew what to do then. Now, some might not know what to do, while others might completely misunderstand what you are."

"But upon learning that I was that mutant girl, by transitive properties they should have continued to treat me the same way. At my core I am the same."

"Unfortunately that isn't how it always works. People in general have a lot of hang ups about different things and can express them either consciously or subconsciously. As an example, for mutants some people will treat you poorly or completely ignore you if they know that you're a mutant instead of a normal human."
Re: I13DT - The Explanation

"Shouldn't mutants be better about that kind of thing then?"

"It was very improvised and has since been destroyed. I adapted it after losing my initial chassis and my first 'face'."
