Power Control - Hard Decisions

The site of the recently restored Braddock Lighthouse. Aircraft hangars and other X-Men facilities, including a Cerebra unit and the Danger Room have been constructed around the foundations of the lighthouse.

Graham looked for higher ground to scout from. Fire meant gas right?

Vertie focused on the rodents and asked them for help, some to find the gas, some to help free those trapped and the rest to keep an eye out for trapped humans in the rubble.

"Need a lift, cutie?" she thought at Graham, herself still floating about 20 feet off the ground.

Elise was still trying to get her bearings back on the ground. After a few minutes, she took a deep breath. Fucking hate planes... She thought to herself, rubbing her temples. At that moment in time, Frankie and Wiggles finally manifested. "Frankie, you're small enough, do you think you could go sneak around smaller places and see if you can find anything we need to deal with?" Do I look like a dog? El rolled her eyes. "Please?" My god, you have manners. When did this happen? Frankie 'said' as he skittered away.
What can I do? Can I do anything? I can help! Let me help! Elise chuckled and knelt down, scratching Wiggles' head. "You stick with me. I'm gonna fly with Haley. You remember her, don't you?" OHMYGOSHSHESMYFAVORITESHESTHEBEST! With that, Elise reached out and picked Wiggles up, stretching out her wings and flying over beside Haley.

Mizuki took a look around the area at the collapsed buildings. "Wow this sucks." Glancing over at Alex, she smirked. "I wonder if there will be a chance to throw you again. That was fun."

Alex was absorbing an I-beam, trying to approach true Colossus levels in size. "Should have just tossed me off the plane. Missed your chance," he joked.

"Pft, the day is still young!" She says with a grin, looking back around the area. "Structures that are still standing are going to be really weak. It's too bad we don't have any spray paint or anything. Would make marking buildings pretty easy as to whether they're safe or unsafe to enter. That's what they usually do in these kinds of disasters. Hm..." She thought out loud, looking around at the rocks. "If no one has a pen or paint or anything, we can stack rocks for that."

"Are we really good to judge that, though? I mean... I'm not a structural engineer, I don't know about you," Alex asked uncertainly.

"We aren't really good at all to judge it, no. But...we also don't have a structural engineer here. I guess figuratively speaking, if one would be absent, the best thing to do would be to use common sense. Obviously houses closer to the epicenter of the blast will be the most dangerous and shouldn't be entered unless absolutely necessary. Getting a rough idea of the shape of things and how far out the blast really leveled houses may help us find out places that need avoided. Just for starters, at least. Like a damage survey." She says with a shrug.

Jennifer is staring daggers at Haley and Graham as they walk through the street. She makes a token effort to check for any thoughts that might indicate people still being trapped in the rubble but most of her effort is focused on hating on Haley for being cutesy with Graham.

Jennifer and Vertie's efforts would confirm that yes, the evacuation had been as complete as they had been told. There were no people trapped in the area, they really did only have to deal with the gas leak and other impending disasters.

Graham looked towards the fires.

"Well I'm better with forests, but I'm thinking the pattern of the fire puts the gas fueling it... there, on the western end," he said, pointing.

"Hey guys, we think the gas might be coming in out to the west, so maybe we head that way to try and stop it. We could fix things along the way as they come up, probably," she mindspoke to the entire area.

She looked back and forth between El and Graham, "El, do you think you could sort of pull us? El nodded. "Yeah sure, I can do that. You mean like, with a rope?" Oh this'll be good. A proper pack mule. You're moving up in the world, El. Tell me again, why are you listening to her? A small voice asked her. She looked off to the side and Frankie was standing on some rubble, watching. She glared daggers at him.

"I have an idea. Blanie! Alex!" She moved over the rubble easily. "If we find leaks on land, it may be best to rig up something like a lighter. Something that lets a litte gas out at a time and burns it off safely until proper work crews can get out here." She looked at the two boys, hoping she got her idea across.

"There may be some stuff in the rubble and we'll need someone tough to install it." She pulled a flint fire starter on a string from her pocket. "We have an archer too, if we need to start the spark at a distance."
