She chuckled again, walking up into the plane.

"Well come on, then." She smirked from the top of the gangplank.

The hydraulics hissed as the gangplank closed. Dee made her way to the front and belted herself into the pilot's seat.

"You're going to want to do up the full harness, by the by."

"I've an inkling that bouncing around the cockpit like a billiards ball doesn't feel all that pleasant even if you're immortal."

She flipped a few switches and a platform beneath the jet started to rise, the roof of the hangar opening.

"No, this is just getting the roof out of the way."

She ran the last pre-flight checks and put a little musical accompaniment on. Then, the turbines behind them kicked in with a jolt and they began to rapidly gain height.

"Whoa!" Roland cried out as the turbines and guitar kicked in.

Once sufficient height was gained, Dee engaged the bigger turbines that provided thrust, and the jet shot out over the water.

"Hang onto your arse, Sackville."

Dee grinned manically as they gained altitude, gradually rising to cruising height as she guided the plane out of residential airspace.

"Almost ready for the real fun."

Since they were safely over the ocean, Dee pushed the plane up beyond the sound barrier. The result was thankfully muffled within the cabin but still... noisy.
