Issue 1 Downtime

Gemma had a table in the Rose and Crown all to herself and was scrutinizing a glass of what looked like beer. Although, the glowing eyes really meant that it was Ignata who had a table all to herself. She sipped at the mug and actually seemed to be contemplating the flavor.

Trev sat down at the table with only a slight hesitation.

"Hi, Ignata," he said cheerfully, noting her eyes.

"Hello, Trev." She smiled at him, "Fancy running into you here."

"I may have stalked you a bit after I couldn't find you at your room," he smiled sheepishly. "Don't mind the company, I hope."

"Of course not," she said, taking another sip of her drink. "Gemma's not much of a drinker and even when she does, flavors just aren't the same in the back seat."

She looked at it, "Some kind of ale. I've forgotten what it was called. Trying some new things."

"Do you and Gemma have different tastes on a lot of things? I know you at least agree that my presence is tolerable," he smiled.

"I really don't quite know how to answer that question. It's only lately that she's agreed to let me drive the socially acceptable form some, so I've been experimenting."

Trev, much to his dismay, blushed mightily. He smiled nervously, "oh is that so? This should be a great night then,"

She regarded him for a moment, "Oh, do quit worrying. I'm not going to maul you. Besides, I wouldn't rob Gemma, so you're safe tonight."

"Well...I'd probably be almost as nervous if it was just Gemma, if it makes you feel any better." He sipped his beer. "I uh....met your sister the other day."

Ignata nearly inhaled her drink as she laughed. After a couple of coughs, she asked, "And how did that go?"

"She said I should be more afraid of her than you. Third degree burns were implied."

"Did she now?" Ignata seemed a little incensed.

"To be fair I'm terrified equally," he joked.

"I like you a lot. Really. Both you and Gemma. I want you to know that. Because sometimes I kind of suck at this talking stuff."

What if she likes someone and Gemma likes me...?

Trev took another pull of his drink the weight of his previous statement seemingly off his chest. "Well. I'll just have to win you both over I guess," he smiled.

"Well...I mean...it's kind of hard to separate the both of you given that you both live in the same body. And I'm no psychic, so there's not really a way to just talk to one of you at a time...so...I dunno."

Trev seemed lost for words.

"Told you I was bad at words..." he smirked.

"I dunno. I just know I'm very, very, happy when I'm around you."

"Well, continue to be happy, because she's very happy with you," Ignata said, smirking back. "And don't worry, I won't fool around with another guy. I can't do that to her and I wouldn't do that to you."

Trev finished his beer. "Do you need another?"

"No, I'm good. Besides, I'm pretty sure Gemma doesn't like beer. Have a *great* evening, Trev," Ignata said. Then the glow in her eyes died and Gemma said, "Umm... Hi."

"So," Trev said thrown off a bit, but smiling nonetheless . "Uh. Hi. How much of that conversation were you a part of and/or did you hear?"

Trev smiled and went over to the bar, returning in short order with two ciders.

"To...dare I say...our first official off-campus date?" He asked holding out his glass for a toast.

"You can dare," she said with a smile, holding up her glass. "Hopefully she didn't put you too off. It can sometimes be hard to read the outside world from the back seat."

Trev wandered to the bar and returned relatively quickly. "One sampler of basically every appetizer they have coming our way," he chuckled.

"So um. I had been kind of wanting to ask you something..."
