Issue 1 Downtime

Rowena was settled into a coffee shop. She had a pair of shopping bags on the ground next to her and she was sipping at her coffee while reading something on a tablet. She was still wearing her X-Corp jacket, but she'd decided to forego the hijab for the shopping trip, instead pulling her hair up into a bun to keep it manageable.

"This seat taken?" a woman with green hair asked, coming from behind.

Rowena set down the tablet. It looked like some sort of website in... Arabic, maybe? "No, it's free," she said, turning to look at the visitor.

"Excellent," she said sitting down.

"You're Rowena Mohsen, right? From Xaviers?"

"Of the old a couple of years past and lately arrived at the new, yes," she said, picking up her coffee in both hands.

Her eyes narrowed ever so slightly and she looked around a bit, "Do I know you?"

"Oh. Sorry. Not quite what I was expecting with a name like 'Will'. Damnable preconceived notions, I guess," she said, smiling.

"Replacing some of my corporate gear," she said, gesturing to the bags. "And figuring out classes for the coming term. So things are progressing."

"Something that may eventually take me to law school. International law interests me the most, but it isn't the most practical thing. If I can spare the time, I might minor in Religion, but that's more of a 'for me' thing."

"I've only seen super-powered combat a couple of times when the bad guys were still lingering around the area we were working in. I'm of limited use in those sort of situations, but I'm at least mildly competent."

"It's truly not all punching things, sometimes we get to use Will as a human shield too," Steph said quietly as she stepped up to the table, cleaning rag in hand. She'd apparently been cleaning a nearby table.

"You two need anything to drink or eat?" she smiled. "Stephanie Kaltiera. Couldn't help but overhear the fun talk."

"Nice to meet you," Rowena said, extending her hand. If Stephanie attempted to grab it, her hand would go right through it.
