Though many students might prefer going to London, Maldon provides closer amenities for those without a car or unwilling to pay for a cab. Several pubs are available, though the Rose and Crown is notable for having been where Excalibur spent a good deal of their downtime. Also of note is the Plume Library, home to many rare books.
"Even if I could, I'd set myself on fire first," Regan says, watching herself in a shop window to make sure she looks relatively normal, "I stopped playing dress up after I got forced out of the squad."
"Alright," Regan says, "We can just wander for a bit. See if anything catches our interest. Like one of those cool junk shops that still have cases of discontinued candy and soda, or a homeless guy having an argument with himself."
"Yeah, pretty much," Regan says, "Or that you had a doctor's appointment. Or that you had a panic attack. Or that you were possessed and had to be exorcised."
"Just about any excuse works as long as you don't have to prove it."
"That's 'Regan' for 'Fine, okay' isn't it?" she teases, walking a couple steps when Regan stops before noticing and turning around. "Tattoos?" she asks, stepping up next to her to look through the window.
"I dunno. Something special to you," Regan says, "I was gonna get a Mothra tramp stamp someday, but if I have to do it myself I don't think I can bend that way."
