After a brief misunderstanding over John's lack of footwear, the two were seated under the branches of a small potted
tree draped with a string of lights.

The menus came and their waitress departed once again with a promise to return shortly.
"So... year two huh? How the hell did the last one go by so fast?"

Their smalltalk continued until the food arrived. John thanked the waitress as she left.
"Smells delicious," he smiled.
