Chloe landed neatly in front of the Rose and Crown, shifted into human form, revealing that yes, she'd remembered to put on her training suit, and walked inside, in search of a pint.

Melody sat at the bar, alone, a pint and a shot glass in the process of being set in front of her, her gaze on the soccer match on one of the tvs behind the bar. She tossed back the shot and took a long pull from the beer.

I guess I play "drink until one of the locals looks cute" now or until someone answers my texts...

"Hi." Chloe said, sitting down near Melody at the bar.

"Hi," she smiled, setting down her beer.

She picked up the beer again after an extremely awkward few seconds of silence, and took another sip.

"So...long time no see. Care to join me?" she asked.

Derek stretched, very much in need of a drink after work, as he walked into the bar. "Ah... nothing like a pint after eight hours of ah shit." He glanced back and forth between Melody and Chloe for a moment, considering turning and walking slowly back out the door.

Melody noticed Derek as she took another drink... And she immediately downed the rest of her beer.

Shit. Spotted. Well, no reason not to be adult about this.... Derek walked up to the bar, not without a certain sense of dread. "Hello, ladies," he said, forcing a cheerful voice.

Melody was a bit surprised by the honesty of that answer. "Guess I was looking for 'are you two an item,' but fucking works too," she laughed nervously.

Annnnd another beer gone. Now she was starting to feel the alcohol--thank god.

There might have been more awkward moments in her life...but none quite this long-lasting. She feigned interest in the soccer game for several minutes before ordering another pint. It was gonna be one of those nights...

She asked the bartender for a set of darts and walked with her drinking companions over to the wall where a dartboard hung, bringing her beer with her.

"Huh? Oh, okay," Derek said, feeling pretty drunk and going along with whatever the girls were saying. He picked up the darts and threw all three of them... To his credit they managed to all hit the board, but nowhere near as close as the girls' were.
