Though many students might prefer going to London, Maldon provides closer amenities for those without a car or unwilling to pay for a cab. Several pubs are available, though the Rose and Crown is notable for having been where Excalibur spent a good deal of their downtime. Also of note is the Plume Library, home to many rare books.
When people arrived, they'd find a large room, apparently converted from some kind of industrial space. There was a "bar" at one end, selling non-alcoholic beverages and at the other end a DJ was getting ready to start his performance. Meanwhile, loud, thumping dance music was pouring from the speakers.
Sid was standing a little away from the door, leaning with her back against the wall with one foot propped up against it. She seems to be waiting for somebody, scanning the room while clearly not wanting to be there in the first place. Stupid terrible dance-trance-eurobeat crap.
Alex, meanwhile, had looked around the place and, seeing how most people (notably his girlfriend) hadn't made it yet, had decided to make the best of things.
In other words, he was on the dance floor either living it up or making a fool of himself. Other people could judge.
Cal grinned. Now I remember why I came. "Well yeah, but do you know how long you take to get ready?" he teased. "Besides, you have to have someone scout the place out, right?"
"Well, if you mean booze? From what I've seen, you have to go over to that skeevy looking guy in the corner and show him your boobs, and he's got a flask in his coat pocket. Buuuuutttt... if you mean just a regular drink that, y'know, we know isn't laced with anything, you just need to bat your eyes at your boyfriend."
Brigid was dressed... well, quite a bit less mousily than she usually went for. In fact, these rather looked to be among the outfits that Victoria took her out to get.
She looked through the crowd after entering, trying to spot someone that she knew.
