Theresa set her tray on a table in the corner, sliding into a chair with her back to a wall. She opened a paperback book and started reading, munching on her meal with her free hand.

Brigid makes her way in and loads up her tray. She's a growing girl, after all.
She stops in her tracks when she spots Theresa. After a deep breath, she gives a nervous wave.

Theresa catches the wave and her body posture reflects the desire to bolt for just a moment. She covers it up pretty quickly and nods to Brigid, but doesn't look her in the eye.

Brigid makes her way over, trying not to seem confrontational.
"Hey. Things are still... weird, aren't they?"

"What gave you that impression?" There was maybe a little bit of acid in her tone. Theresa's body language might give the impression of a wolf trespassing in another's territory.

"Murphy and I have been talking. We're... trying to fix it."

"That's nice for you," Theresa said, looking somewhere slightly to the left of Brigid's face.

"Look, I'm... I'm sorry, Theresa. Things got really out of hand."

"Well, we've certainly learned that learned that words don't necessarily fix things, haven't we?"

"I know," she sighs. "I want to make it up to you. Working with Murphy is part of that."

"There's nothing to make up," Theresa said. "Shit happened, it cascaded into more shit and it all propagated from a mistake I made. I learned my lesson."

"Well this... hurts from both ends, I think."

"Well, I can cauterize the wound for you a bit," Theresa said. "I'm not your concern anymore. I won't be that sore spot in your pack."

"I just... want to be your friend again."

That seemed to sting Theresa a bit. "I don't know if the wolves will cooperate. Mine's certainly been a bitch since all this started."

"That night I just... felt backed against a wall. By everyone. And I didn't know how to back down."

"And I don't know that you'd ever really know how. I'm not looking to change you, Brigid." Her wolf was trying really hard to be civil and seemed to be on the edge of panic.

"So maybe we find something that... they don't enter into."
"When do you think you'll be back online?"

"Still waiting on a ship date for my new laptop," Theresa said. "I'm kind of SOL there. Expedited shipping was just a bridge to far to ask my parents."

"We're not dealing with it now," Theresa pointed out, turning her eyes back to her meal.

Theresa nods and seems to be wrestling with herself, "You... you can sit down if you want."

"Would you just sit? You deferring to me is sending so many mixed signals right now, it's a wonder I'm not having power issues."

She shakes her head, sitting down.
"Would you rather I bossed you around?"
It doesn't seem to be a serious suggestion.

"No. Maybe. I... shit." She sighed, covering it up by drinking some water from a glass on her tray.

It sounded like she was muttering "not my pack" a couple of times before she set the glass back down. "Mixed signals," she responded to Brigid.

"I just thought I was being as nice as I could, considering I was a total bitch when we last talked."

"I won't lie and say it didn't feel... better... when all those challenges were over. I just can't get the human shit and the wolf shit to match up to the point that I can still have friends."

"It felt like shit to... lose I guess? Turned my world upside down," Theresa said. "Murphy's the only reason I'm still here."

"Yeah, but... if I'm really..."
She sighs.
"It seems like I'm the one who needs to fix this shit."
