Issue 1 Downtime

Theresa settled at a table for dinner with her laptop, flipping it open and surfing what looked like clothing sites while she munched on her dinner.

Murphy headed into the cafeteria. She looks like she's looking for someone. Spotting Theresa, she heads over and sits next to her.

"Hey."

"Hey there," Theresa said, leaning over to give Murphy a kiss on the cheek. "How are you doing?"

"Alright," Murphy says. She smiles at the affection, briefly distracted from her purpose.

"...Fought Brigid."

Theresa's eyes narrowed and she pulled back. "What?"

"Sorry," Murphy says. "Stupid. Angry."

"Worked things out."

"I hope so. I'm getting tired of having to confront this over and over again," she hissed.

"Sorry," Murphy says. Her tone is colder this time. "Must be hard."

Theresa sighed, "I just thought we'd moved past it. I was stupid. It won't happen again."

Murphy sighs. She shakes her head.

"Wasn't mad at you," Murphy says. "Her. Different."

Theresa rubbed her eyes. "Okay. Well at least you got it resolved. She's still in one piece right?"

That unsettled Theresa's wolf and she had to fight to keep the yellow out of her irises. She was quiet for a bit.

"No," she said, shutting her laptop and throwing some things back on her supper tray. She looked more queasy than angry.

"Hello ladies," Steph smiled, setting her tray down at the table. "Mind some compan--"she stopped, sensing the mood at the table.

"--everything okay? You two need some time alone?"

"Don't know," Theresa answered Murphy. She glanced at Steph, the gold flashing briefly in her eyes. "Feels like... the other night."

"Murphy had it out with Brigid. Murphy lost," Theresa said, managing to fight whatever was bugging her down enough to at least behave normally.

Steph cut into a pork chop thoughtfully, looking between the two.

"...interesting."

That uppity little bitch better not think she can start ordering me around...

Murphy frowns. She looks worried.

"Help?"

"This doesn't change anything. Doesn't need to," she said, almost more trying to reassure herself.

"Murph's in charge. Most experienced other than me," she said through a mouthful of pork chop.

"How it should be," she said firmly. She seemed to be gripping her silverware rather tightly, and flecks of gold were working their way into her eyes.

A tray slams down loudly on the table, followed by Jennifer sitting down. It looks like she didn't really intend to and just fell into her seat extra hard. She looks tired and grumpy and starts to eat without saying a word.
