Issue 1 Downtime

Gemma picked her way through the cafeteria line, loading up on an assortment of meat products and a couple of vegetables. It was a big meal for a person her size. The glow in her eyes would let anyone who knew her know that Gemma wasn't the one in the driver's seat. She settled at a table and regarded the plate for a long moment before starting to eat.

Veronica went through the line herself, getting her normal assortment of fruits and veggies. Once she had what she needed, she headed towards where Gemma was sitting, motioning to the empty seat. "Do you mind if I join you?"

"Not at all. I'm Ig... Gemma." She motioned to the empty seat.

She dips her head in thanks and takes a seat. "Sank you, Iggemma. My name is Veronica. Eet is a pleasure. Please do not take zis strangely, but your hair is absolutely beautiful."

She gives a friendly smile. "Sank you." Working at the strawberries on her plate, she points out, "You know, as somewhat small as zis place is, eet does not cease to amaze me how zere is always someone new to meet."

She nods with a smile back, double-taking for a moment before just going back to her food. Doesn't seem she thinks anything of it. "Are you off zee Institute, or zee University?"
