Blaine moved a box into his and Vic's room, and quickly jumped onto his bed, hanging up posters of cars with engines and things.

Victor's body was mostly obscured by the stack of banker boxes he was carrying, as well as a couple of duffel bags slung over either shoulder. It wasn't until he set the boxes onto the floor that he really noticed that he wasn't alone in the room.
"Oh, hey, didn't see ya there. I'm Victor. This... is the right room, right?" He seemed a little unsure of himself, duffel bags slowly slipping off of his shoulders.

"Well, this is ~A~ room. Victor, was it? That sounds familiar from the sheet...
I'm Blaine."

Victor let the bags drop to the floor with a pair of dull thuds, offering his hand. "Nice to meetcha Blaine."

"Same! This is gonna be great--finally out from under the ol' parents thumb, right?"

"Heh, yeah I guess so. It'll take some gettin' used to, 'specially not having to get up at dawn. Now that I'm looking forward to."

"Ugh, dawn? What was that all about?"

Victor sat down on the edge of his bed. "Well, when you live on a farm, that's just how things work."

"A farm, really? How big was it?"

Victor thought for a moment. "Pretty big. I can't remember the acreage, but the bison need a lot of land. The chickens not so much. And then the hemp fields, but you can grow a lot in a little space...."

"You have any of those really big threshers?"

"We just rent one from a neighbour. We've mostly got livestock and regular veggies, so we don't need a thresher of our own."

"Oh," Blaine said, disappointed. "I like huge machines like that."

"Oh, a bit of a gearhead huh? You'd like my stepbrother then. He's always buying old junker muscle cars so he can fiddle with the engines."

"Definitely. I like putting things together and takin 'em apart again."

"There is if you shake apart. Or don't want to attract a lot of attention."

Victor rocked a bit as he sat. "... naw. I prefer testin' stuff out first. Tried and true, dependable, subtle. If I'm tuning a car, I want a car that if I go street racin' in it, I can take an off-ramp or pull into a parking lot and blend in completely. Boring I know, 'cause normal cars are boring as hell, but then it's a bit like bein' a secret agent or somethin'."

Blaine nodded.
"So, what is it you do?"

"Well, nothin' really. I'm still in school. I guess I farm, sorta."

"Oh. Ohhh." Victor drummed his hands on the mattress as he sat.
"I get smaller. Like, really small. So that's good for sneaky recon stuff I guess."

"As small as I want I guess. Half an inch is the furthest I've done on purpose, I don't wanna go too far."

"I get lighter, but... you don't wanna see this. It ain't impressive. Not like what my sister does, she's the real impressive one."

Victor shook his head. "Not an inch."

"So, what do you do?"
