Issue 1 Downtime

Theresa was probably violating at least one rule with the volume level of her music, but at least she had the good grace to do it during the daytime hours. Whatever it was sounded like it involved quite a bit of guitar and was definitely on the 'metal' side of things. Her door was open a crack and she was partially visible through the opening, kicked back in a chair and reading.

Like a moth drawn to the flame Sidney drifts towards the cracked door spilling music into the hallway. Pushing the door open she pops her head in.

"Yo!" she shouts into the room to get Theresa's attention.

Theresa reaches over to turn down her speakers and looks towards the door. "Hey. Sorry about that."

"Sorry for what? Having good taste and rocking out?"

"Oh, I figured you were bothered by it. I figured I could keep it up until someone complained. You just happened to be the first person to say anything."

"Don't, on my account." she waves it off. "I'm Sid, by the way."

"Theresa," she said, tossing the book aside. It looked like some sort of meteorology textbook. "I think I've seen you in some of my classes... occasionally," she said with a smirk.

"Gotta make up for the time wasted in detention somehow." she smirks back.

"There's always not ending up in detention. I hear that works wonders for opening up your free time. Not that I'm one to talk about proper use of free time."

"With how trigger-happy all the Yanks are? Anyway, Mars and me are having a little party in Maldon and I was wondering if you wanna come."

"Before I agree to anything, do I want to know what kind of party?"

"I dunno. Do you? It's a party. There'll be beer and music and cool people."

"Tempting as it is, I'll have to pass on the beer. The rest sounds intriguing though."

"Suit yourself. But cool, don't go blabbing about it though, we're trying not to have this shot down by the Fun Police. So only tell people who won't go running to Mommy Werewolf and Daddy Pretty-Boy, got it? Anybody who wants to come should gather in the common room at 10pm on Friday. We got a teleporter to sneak us out."

"Nobody talks to me, so no worries there."

"All the more reason to come hang and rock out. But I feel you, there's too many goodie-goodie wankers around here sometimes."

"I'm one of them," she said. "I'm just usually tied up in my own stuff."

"Well up to you. But don't bring down the fuzz on us, got it?"

"Hey, unless you're boosting games like Wayne, you've got nothing to fear from me."

"I don't know what that means. But Wayne's a wanker. He might be there though, I dunno."

"I ratted out Wayne when I ran into him shoplifting video games in a store. He's probably still sore about it."

"I don't get what the big deal is but whatever. Party's probably gonna break a law or two, but only the dumbass ones."

"It would probably require a long explanation about my hobbies. But your party's secret is safe with me."

"Cool. So what are your hobbies? Aside from the weather."

"Computer games and loud music mostly. And when I get older, more tattoos," she said, turning around to show off the Celtic knot tattoo on her upper back.

"Man you have the weirdest balance of lame and cool going on." she chuckles.

"It's all cool, from my perspective at least."

"Well, see you at the party, maybe."

"Sure thing."
