Issue 1 Downtime

Brigid has been in the girls' showers for what is probably longer than anyone could reasonably take for a shower. The water is turned up full blast, loud and hot.

After Alex had had time to take three additional showers (on top of the one he really did take), he ended up pacing around in the hall. Finally, he knocked on the door, kind of pushing it open with his back a crack so his voice would go through. "Are you a- um, okay in there?" he called in.

"Just... just a little longer," she says, muffled by the water.

"Do you have any skin left now?" Alex called back, rolling his eyes.

Alex sighed, sitting down on the ground with his back to the door. "I... I know, Brigid, I just... Just come out? That's it's not going to magically start making you feel better in there, right?"

Alex let his head thump back against the door. "Okay, Brige? It was a demon. It wasn't some guy. Would you feel bad about some wild killer crazy thing that was attacking you in the jungle? Like, on four legs?"

He couldn't help it. "Well, I could just come in, if you want!" It did sound like he was walking away as he said it, though.

Alex, meanwhile, milled around the hall, making his way eventually toward the common room.

Brigid eventually emerges from her room, still a bit damp but at least dressed. She looks around for Alex, and eventually heads out into the common room.

"I'm... sorry I'm making you worry. I'm just pretty freaked out..."
