exterminator!

Violet bustles through the cafeteria, trying to make her way through the milling students without smacking anyone with the giant plasterboard in her hands. Finally reaching a large, empty table she sits, arranges her things and begins to draw a huge, kawaii bug in the.center of the paper.

This time around Belle returned to the university without as much money as she had liked and had changed her eating habits to the meal plan that the university offered. Belle casually walked in to the cafeteria and waited in line. Oh...cafeteria food be still my heart. Her tray had some simple low carb. and high fiber foods with a small milk jug. She turned around in the sea of unfamiliar faces and sighed. I feel like this was easier the first time around.

And then there was the ice-berg in the sea... Belle walked up the table where her roommate sat and invited herself to sit in front of the woman.

"What was your name again?"

Violet raised one eyebrow as Belle sat down though she didn't quite rebuff her. "Violet'" she answers simply as she fills in little stars and hearts around the center figure of the drawing. Moving to the banner she places little tic marks in random places and mentions "wouldn't have imagined I'd find you in here. You feeling better today?" she hopes the girl won't mention the slight rearrangement of the room. While Belle slept, Violet had nudged a few of her belongings closer to the center of the room in the hopes of gradually reclaiming her half of the room .

"Teri? The beautiful little locust gal? She needs some self esteem boosting," Belle looked over the paper rotated it a few times. "I'm not following these designs. By the way if I knew you were moving in I would have moved some of my stuff. Next time just ask me."

She lifted up her milk and stabbed it with her straw.

"Yeah, she can talk to bugs and was able to convince the ants to get their aphids off the roses so I thought that maybe she could sell her services you know? I mean she could just tell bugs to get the eff out and then no one would have to squish them. The design" she pauses, eyeing it skeptically herself "is not very good but I'm trying to draw a bug that's cute and not dead but I guess reminiscent of normal exterminator signs"

She took a sip of her milk then nodded as she actually enjoyed the positive attitude but made sure she didn't show too much of her enjoyment, "I didn't realize that Teri had that gift as well. She is a powerful young woman. Not so much the blight she thinks she is." Belle paused and wondered if the time back home with the nuns had actually had an affect on her.

Violet nodded "Yeah I don't know what the hell was wrong with the people in her home town but they kind of got in her head with all of that religious nonsense so I thought it might make her feel better about it if she had some money coming in and had the chance to see people becoming aware of her ability without freaking out about it." She winces adding "not like I did. I still feel bad about that but bugs make me...squeamish." she tries for an offhand tone, slipping the next question into the conversation casually in the hopes that Belle might not notice the change in subject. "Hey, so have you ever heard of a mutant like her? One that's more a...collection of creatures?"

Belle was too busy thinking about herself that she did not notice the change in conversation, "No. She is or they are unique to me. Imagine may voices telling talking at once but it's all you. IF that's even how it works. I have scene brethren that have wings like angels, monkey tails, play-doh dude, and a rather big hipped rock woman. And of course the usual more normal looking ones with mind powers or something like that."

She looked at her milk and her food with such a disinterested face. "I hate this food."

Violet curses softly under her breath. Fuck. So how am I supposed to figure out if it was me that hurt her then? Scribbling along the border of the poster once more. She chuckles softly as Belle criticizes the food. "it's cafeteria food girl, you know it's like 37 percent factory offal. It's like a state mandate or something. Why're you in here anyway? Aren't you a baller? I saw how many clothes, and what type of clothing you have and frankly, would've expected you to go to restaurants or...have a chef or something".

Belle looked a bit hurt not at Violet's words but at her situation, "I used to have a nicer life. I got a little out of control. Daddy found out sent me to a convent for a little till he thought I had learned my lesson. Now here I am again just with less money and a few more life lessons. So, there's my story."

"Don't even tell me to sell any of my things. They are designer and they are expensive. Gifts from men and women. I had a fabulous life but I'm glad I messed up because I feel like a better person... sort of."

She watched Violet doodle for that it was more interesting than the food.

"Ooooo so what'd you do then? Must've been pretty rotten for your dad to send you to a convent. I demand details. Grinning, Violet eyes the other girl suspiciously, trying to figure out what she must've done. I bet she slept with a teacher. And she got caught. And there was a scandal. I wonder what shoe size she wears? After too long a pause, she adds "Besides, I wouldn't suggest you sell your things, I would suggest you reprise whatever scandalous activity inspired someone to get them for you in the first place".

"It's really none of your business," as she sipped her milk again without making eye contact. "And I wont reprise anything. I love to sin but I'm kind of picking my sins more carefully."

Belle put down her milk again and looked at her mobile device that told her the time. "I usually love talking about myself but I had a rough last night. Fill me in on yourself." As Belle waited for Violet to answer she took one of the writing devices on the table and started drawing her own thing on Violet's paper.

Violet grins, silently deciding that Belle had indeed effed a professor. "scandalous" she sing-songs under her breath. Opening her mouth to answer, Violet stops short to see the other girl drawing on her poster. She waits to see whether Belle is helping or destroying before saying anything about it. "19, Useless power, sent here because my parents are paranoid and decided to be peeholes about it instead of trusting me to keep my mutie status secret and safe. Now, the hell you doing to my poster?"

Belle was just coloring in words and making cut bug doodles, hindering and helping the poster. There were a few tasteful spiral and a few cute grasshoppers since it was about Teri. They weren't the best but they certainly weren't the worse. She just ignored Violet's outburst and continued on with the previous topic, "No ones power is useless. Except that kid who changed channels with his eyes. That's pretty useless."

Violet nods in approval at the grasshoppers, adding a few on her side but giving them monocles and cigarettes for good measure. "I can only suggest things though. Like my power would be great for like..a waitress because I can try to make you feel generous or whatever but I couldn't actually -make- you tip me or anything. Now that would be a useful power. My mom said she was glad I couldn't do anything more impressive though. Said I'd be a supervillain" she laughs then admitting "They didn't really freak out. They were cool about it but the general tone was starting to freak them out and they wanted to be sure I'm safe. What can you do?"

"Wow, I feel like I'm in second grade doodling with crayons!" Belle actually let out a playful giggle. "So can you make me feel like I look fantastic in a target dress? Or make me think I feel fantastic that I feel fantastic in a target dress? Or neither?"

Continuing with the theme that Violet was going for Belle mixed up some colors to make some of the grasshoppers pop on the page. "I shoot volcanic ash out of my hands and can create an armor over my body with it."

Violet laughs "I know right? And it'll help Teri maybe." In answer to the second question, Violet closes her eyes, fixating on the other girls best features and trying to impress the feeling upon her. After she breaks her reverie, she adds "volcanic ash sounds like a phenomenal ability to have. It'd give you an edge in a fight certainly.

She visibly relaxes as Belle laughs, chuckling along with her "oh thank god" she admits in a rush of words "I thought you were mad. They are nice at least so Um claps for that." She golf.claps teasingly, still laughing.

"I hope you don't use your power on me again though," not that Belle would know. Belle didn't re-adjust her shirt as she went back to drawing; ending the eye contact. "There's something about you. I would have handed your ass to you by now but...I like you. Unless you're suggesting that I like you than I better start spitting my venom."

"No promises," she said honestly. Being nice is a work in progress after all!

Belle switched colors again as she finished drawing, "This looks like a mess. I would hate if someone offered this to me. Good thing Teri isn't me."

Not sharing the humor; Belle was fully displeased with what Violet had just said, "You're very lucky that that is for Teri because I would throw my milk at you." Politely she withdrew herself from the art work, straightened her outfit, and glared at the woman. "You should watch your mouth Violet. It might turn the tides from good to bad or you might not turn up at all...This campus you have to watch what you say and how you act."
