Cal found a room that wasn't occupied yet (unless Lily was stalking him, oh hadn't that been hilarious) and walked in, pulling one of the chairs up closer to the table. He reached into his bag, pulling out his box of projects and started sifting through it.

"Wasn't just you," Cal said. "'Hey, let's send in the X-Men's poster children to pep talk us into wanting to do sutpid shit!'" he added in a mocking voice.

"And yeah, right, like they've had to deal with power problems. Like, real ones."

"I know, right? Like I need the Kentucky Fried Douchebag telling me about power exploration. Um, hello, been there, not going back."

"Have you ever had a power mishap? Seriously. I mean, yeah, what the heck do you think?"

Cal just gave her a 'seriously?' look, then looked back at the project he was working on. "Like I said in class. I work with electricity."

He frowned. "I... isn't that what you just asked me?"

"No, I was talking about the stupidity of the question." Aisha said "I mean, look at me. Or y'know, don't."

Cal shrugged, shifting uncomfortably. 'Yeah," he said. Or at least, those of you with a working brain don't look at her...

"Well, ok, you can see me, but most people can't." Aisha said.

"Yeah, which is why its nice that a person can actually see me." Aisha replied "but you're just one guy. No offense."

"Yeah, I know. I'm used to that," he said, not looking up this time.

"Well yeah." Aisha said "Most people are used to just being one person."

"Right. That's what my parents said when they signed me up to get those experiments done," he said, apparently still doing... well something to a phone he had opened. "Because the family needed money. How selfish was it for one person to say no just because they were afraid."

"And that's what the doctors said when I told them I wanted to stop. Millions of people needed cheap power. How selfish was it for them to not get it just because some stupid kid thought it hurt when they amped his powers up."

"Yeah, well, maybe they were right. My family's got their house paid off. The biotech companies got their samples and their data, so people can still get that cheap electricity. All it hurt was one person." He shrugged. "And I'm not even that anymore."

"Eyes. Good chunk of my brain. Nervous system. Hand. I'm a vegetable that they wired up to keep moving."

"You're still a person." Aisha said "That'd be like...saying I'm not a person because most people can't see me."

"Oh? Anything in you that you weren't born with?" Cal asked, glancing at her. "I don't know. What if I'm dead? What if when they fried me and my heart stopped, I really died, and now I'm just a machine that thinks it's Cal because I can decode his memories?"

"Nothing since I got my freaking braces taken off." Aisha admitted "But when my mutation came it, it changed me. It made me into a different kind of person."

"For a start, you're the only person I've met who can see me." Aisha said "Everyone else can only see my clothes. And that is only if I'm having a really god day."

"An invisible person isn't a different kind of person. Anyway, at least you can learn to turn that off. Or get one of those inhibitor things."

"Well no, but it is a solution," he said. "And one that you can turn off." He swallowed. "Look, I'm sorry, you're right. I'll shut up."

Cal reached into the box and pulled out one of the tablets inside, checking to make sure it powered up. "Here. I put a good camera in that one."
