Issue 1 Downtime

Cal found a room that wasn't occupied yet (unless Lily was stalking him, oh hadn't that been hilarious) and walked in, pulling one of the chairs up closer to the table. He reached into his bag, pulling out his box of projects and started sifting through it.

"Wasn't just you," Cal said. "'Hey, let's send in the X-Men's poster children to pep talk us into wanting to do sutpid shit!'" he added in a mocking voice.

"Right. That's what my parents said when they signed me up to get those experiments done," he said, apparently still doing... well something to a phone he had opened. "Because the family needed money. How selfish was it for one person to say no just because they were afraid."

"Yeah, well, maybe they were right. My family's got their house paid off. The biotech companies got their samples and their data, so people can still get that cheap electricity. All it hurt was one person." He shrugged. "And I'm not even that anymore."

"Oh? Anything in you that you weren't born with?" Cal asked, glancing at her. "I don't know. What if I'm dead? What if when they fried me and my heart stopped, I really died, and now I'm just a machine that thinks it's Cal because I can decode his memories?"

"Nothing since I got my freaking braces taken off." Aisha admitted "But when my mutation came it, it changed me. It made me into a different kind of person."
