Issue 1 Downtime

Lily and Aisha headed for the cafeteria. Somewhere between the room and the cafeteria, Aisha had gone invisible again. It was not a good power day.

Lily looked half asleep as she wandered the halls, so it took her a moment to realize that AIsha had disappeared.

"Aisha?"

Cal, meanwhile, was heading in to get lunch when he heard the voices. Looking back, he saw the two of them and quickly caught the door, holding it open for them.

"I'll try to fix it." Aisha said, too wrapped up in her own situation to immediately notice Cal "Let me know when you see me"

Lily wasn't the only one who looked half asleep roaming the halls. Haley hadn't slept a wink after her weird encounter in her room and her eyes were bloodshot and surrounded by dark circles. She started to quietly pass the group of Cal Aisha and Lily but promptly bumped directly into the invisible girl.

"Shit. Sorry. Aisha?"

Cal's phone beeped with a text and he pulled it out of his pocket, looked at it, then turned it around to show Aisha and Lily the picture of the two of them standing there.

Cal resolutely pushed his mechanical hand into his pocket and was not making eye contact with Haley. Not that he had with anyone. "Oh, ah... yeah. I do," he muttered.

Cal blinked, and resisted the urge to say that yes, when he turned fourteen he spontaneously grew wiring and circuits. "Ah... no, not exactly," he said, hoping that the 'food' idea would catch on again.

Lily was leaning against a wall as people were talking. Her eyes closed and she began to drift off.

Subtly, her mind reached out and nudged Calvin's, her subconscious curiosity towards him pushing her to take a gander at any of his surface thoughts.

Cal's thoughts were... odd, to say the least. She'd see quite a lot of anxious thoughts about the subject of his cybernetics coming up, of course. And also about the fact that there were, at present, three pretty girls around him. These were possibly obscured, at least somewhat, by what appeared to be gibberish words and information streaming between his mind and, to her psychic senses, blank areas.

Haley caught some of the telepathic exchange, her brain doing a poor job of filtering it. She jumped a bit as she snapped back to reality.

"So food? I need to see if they have coffee. I slept like shit last night. This place is creepy as hell in the dark."
