Detention - Totally Not Breakfast Club

Up until recently maintained as a museum, the childhood home of the Braddock family has been pressed into service as additional housing and classroom space for the Institute. Additionally, the increased demands have led to the main ballroom being converted into a cafeteria for both the Institute and those University students on a meal plan. Student reactions have been mixed, and reports of paranormal activity are as of yet unsubstantiated.

"I got angry, I...I didn't mean to!" She sobbed.

Cal didn't offer The Man any answers, but he did shift on his feet so that he was between Haley and the Headmistress.

"It's fine," Regan lies, "I was just surprised it could even touch me. It didn't even sting."

The headmistress frowned, looking first to Haley, then to Regan, seemingly focusing more on what wasn't said than what was.

Haley's shields were weak on their good days, and she was an emotional wreck at the moment, and the scene was playing back in her head vividly, and repeatedly.

"...you're all dismissed from detention early."

"Haley, you're coming with me to my office."

Cal's eyes darted between Haley and the Headmistress calculatingly. He started downloading maps of the school, updating with his own observations, and getting ready to follow Haley's lead.

Haley sobbed even harder, rising, leaving her bag, and walking towards Sam, who was going to wipe her brain and put her in a straight jacket.

Cal's simulations in his brain only gave him a 22% chance of getting Haley out of there, which wasn't nearly good enough. Unless... He eyed the window, then Haley, then picked up her bag. "Hey, you forgot this," he said, his mind racing, turning his back to the window as he ran the calculations of what he'd have to do to grab he and get through the window with her. She could fly, it'd probably be okay...

Haley whispered Cal mentally, not picking up on his plans.

ill...be fine...just might be in detention alone for a long time or something...

Haley's sobs had subsided somewhat, but the tears still flowed, and she shuddered silently.

I'll figure out how to bust you out, he thought back, trying to calm down. (This is a school... They aren't going to hurt her... It'll be okay... Hm, hack the cameras in the office? Worth a try...)

Cal just shrugged. "Don't know what you're talking about." Oh shit it's a trap... god damn... okay, keep cool...

Haley seemed pretty out of it, and her vision was blurred with tears, so she just walked out of the room in front of Sam, not really responding or reacting to Cal, still crying.
