Issue 1 Downtime

Regan followed Alex until they were near the woods on the estate.

"Okay, look," Regan says, "What happened last night? Probably just some weird mixup of brain signals because of the sword thing, alright? It doesn't need to mean anything or any mushy crap like that."

"I'll keep my mouth shut and no one will ever need to find out."

"Oh, yeah, that's what I figured," Alex lied. "I mean, I don't know what all's going on with... well, the sword crap. But, I mean, you like girls, right? So it had to be some weird mistake."

"And, I mean, everyone does weird stuff in their dreams, right?"

And who was he trying to convince, here?

"Right," Regan agrees, "I mean, you have a girlfriend and everything. You were probably dreaming about getting into her pants and things just got mixed up."

"Right, and you just thought I was..." He stopped, sort of at a loss there. "Uh, help me out with this one."

Regan sighs heavily. This would be easier if certain thoughts would stay nice and repressed where they belonged.

"...This isn't going to work, is it?"

He sighed. "It kinda has to, doesn't it? I mean... we don't know that this is permanent, right?"

"Sure," Regan says, "And regardless, it was a one time thing."

"Never going to happen again."

"Exactly. I mean, it's not like we can't control ourselves," he scoffed. This totally wasn't a big deal.

"So....good," Regan says, awkwardly.

"Right," he said, "Good." Although out here in the woods, no one would know if I just ripped your cl- god damn it, Alex!

"I should get going then," Regan says, "I will just...see you...around. I guess."

Smooth.

"Yeah, I guess we should... get back."

Not that he thought they needed to get back to a place where they would have chaperones around or anything.
