"Starting to get a little cold for my taste, but I'll get through it. How's it going?"

"I turn into a bear. Good points, bad points. The occasional episodes of increased hearing can be irritating. It's not half as bad as the scents though." She wrinkled her nose.

"Kinda cool. Sounds rough on the wardrobe."
Something clicked in her head and she quickly followed this up.
"Oh, I'm Brigid. Brigid O'Hara."

"Mary Ann. Mary Ann London," she said, sticking out her hand for Brigid to shake. "You hang out with those other two girls..." She paused as her mind clicked through the names. "Kay and Theresa right?"

She nodded, shaking Mary's hand.
"Yeah. We met over orientation. They're cool."

"That's cool. Good to have people like that you can hang out with. And... Alex is the cute guy?"

She snorted.
"Don't let him hear you said that, or it'll become a thing," she grinned.

"Yeah, well... that was a connection made at orientation too."
"So... a pretty good summer, I guess."

"Bad home deal? If you don't mind me asking that is..." Mary Ann plopped down on a nearby bench.

"Turning into a bear, swearing, not going to church, thinking it doesn't make a damn difference who you love and are married to, you name it." She chuckled, "My parents said I was a free spirit. I think they were just trying to find a 'polite company' label to use for me."

Mary Ann apparently decided to shift the topic sans clutch. "So what was the deal in power control today? It was all very reform school."
