Issue 1 Downtime

Having taken the last shuttle into town Theresa and Kay are now walking back to the school on the path snaking along the water's edge and up the cliff that the lighthouse is being built on. It's quiet and somewhere along the way Kay has hooked her arm into Theresa's.

"Yeah, it was fun." she smiles back. "I... well I thought it'd be more awkward, but I guess no one cared." Or noticed.

"Yeah, I don't think they really care over here. That's more of a back home thing I guess."

Theresa adjusted the bag of cookies ingredients she had on her other arm. "Hopefully we can make the cookies without me burning them."

"I'll try to keep you from it." she chuckles. "Just gotta make sure we don't make them too thick and keep an eye on them."

"Pie is good," Theresa grinned. "So you're sure you're okay with all this? I mean, I kind of keep expecting that if I pinch myself I might wake up."

"Not that I'm aware of. Unless you're mentally putting my head on someone else's body," she teased. "But that'd just be more weird than wrong, I guess."

"Not at all!" she says, then blushes faintly. "I dunno, I'm just new to all this. Dating in general, I mean."

She nods and just holds on to Theresa's arm for a while as they walk.

"We'll just go with the flow. That's working pretty okay so far..." she smiles.

"Oh ha ha." she says, giving Theresa's arm a light slap. "You know what I meant. I'm just glad it... kinda scared us out of not saying anything, I guess."

"Yeah, I'm glad that came out of it." Her eyes flickered with green energy for a moment as she looked at the sky before they returned to normal. If she noticed, she didn't say anything. "I think there's a storm front moving in."
