"You certainly have the potential," Gideon said, "And there's always a shortage of capable telepaths, so I'd say whether or not you make the teams is entirely dependent on you and your actions."

[Haley Crusek]

This seemed to give Haley an occasion to pause for thought. "Huh...well...I guess I never even really thought of that happening. I don't even know what I want to do with my life."

[Gideon Rede]

"I wouldn't expect you to know what you want to do with the rest of your life at your age. I will say that the teams are not necessarily for life," Gideon said, "If you discover that a life in spandex is not for you you can leave and do whatever it is that you want to do with your life."

[Haley Crusek]

"Maybe that would do me good...having like...something to aim for. Make me really work on stuff. My dad keeps telling me that I need to grow up..."

[Gideon Rede]

"When you can do things that we can maturity is forced on you," Gideon said, "Because your mistakes can end up costing the people around you dearly, but there's still plenty of time to make your fair share of mistakes. You just can't make them by melting other peoples minds."

"The teams can be a good experience though. Lots of character building through discipline, teamwork, leadership, and life threatening situations."

"I think we'll get plenty of that last one just by going to school here if half of the stories about here are true..."

[Gideon Rede]

Gideon chuckled.

"There's a reason the teams form such an integral part of the school and that's because almost all of the stories are true," Gideon said, "The year isn't complete until somebody has tried to destroy the campus, London or abducted students."

[Haley Crusek]

"Speaking of...are those rumors true? Are people really missing, and that's why like, everything is cancelled?"

[Gideon Rede]

"I can't say I have many details. They don't brief me on these things anymore, but to my knowledge the rumors are true. It would also be the most...reasonable explanation for the cancellations," Gideon said.

[Haley Crusek]

"Scary...hope everyone is alright." she frowned.

"Well. I'm gonna like...go try and do that meditating thing you suggested. Maybe we can go for a trip again sometime?" she smiled hopefully.

"You get used to it after a while."

"If you can show me a decent mental shield next time we talk I'll consider it," Gideon smiled.

"Deal," she grinned.
