Issue 1 Downtime

Theresa decided the best way to stretch out her travel stiffness was to go for a swim. So she'd changed into her bathing suit and wandered around with the map until she found the pool. She sat on the edge for a bit, waving her feet in the water. Finally she slid off the side, dunking herself completely before coming back up.

Tommy More was the next to enter the pool area, starting a bit when he realized someone else was there.

"Oh. Hullo."

"Heya," Theresa said, pushing her wet hair back so she could see who was talking to her.

"Out for a morning constitutional?"

"Gettin' the travel stiffness out, yeah. Seems to be doing the trick."

"Oh, another Yank come in from the continent, then? Welcome."

"Where I'm from those could be fightin' words," Theresa said with a laugh.

"Well, hopefully our American friends live up to their words more than our Welsh ones," he chuckled.

"Oh?" Theresa swam over towards Tommy.

"Oh, nothing. Just a private joke. I'm sure you all of you yanks can't live up to your stereotypes," he chuckled.

"Some of us try not to," Theresa said. "I'm Theresa, by the way."

"Tommy More."

"University student?"

"Indeed. I take it from that that you are not?"

She nodded. "I'm a lowly high school student. An awesome one, but still a high school student."

"Well, welcome, I suppose. Not exactly your regular high school now, is it?"

"Not in the slightest."

"Must be tough, around all the college students. I remember my time in high school."

"It's actually not too bad. Kind of neat in a way. Of course, I'm used to dealing with people of different ages, so that may be why it bothers me less."

"Oh?"

"A long story," she said with a shrug. "The 'too long, didn't read' version is I'm a gamer, so I'm used to dealing with people across the age and maturity spectrum."

"Ah. What game, then?" Tommy said, not getting it.

"World of Warcraft right now," she said, though she seemed to be at least marginally aware that he wasn't getting it.

"Oh. Those sort of games."

"Do I look like the typical athletic type?" She snorted. "Maybe a little volleyball on the beach in the summer, but that's about it."

"Beach Volleyball, ey? A bit...made for TV for my tastes."

"Depends on who's playing and where."

"I assume the where is a beach," Tommy pointed out.
