Issue 1 Downtime

Regan sat in the waiting room of the medical center, still very blonde and still looking very annoyed. She was taking out her frustrations by deleting all the contacts in the blonde girl's cell phone.

"This sucks," Regan says with a groan.

Haley noticed Regan messing with the cell phone and tried to snatch it away with her TK. You just don't fuck around with a girl's cell phone!

Haley's move was super successful! Regan rolled her eyes.

"Rourke. Regan Rourke," Regan says, "I need to get out of this body."

Once the girls were settled in the room, Isabel headed to the front desk and placed a call.

"Xavier's Institute," Cassiel said, answering the call that the hotline forwarded to his cell phone. "Psychic office."

"Cassiel, this is Isabel Galen, from the Medical Center. Regan Rourke, the ghost, she's accidentally possessed someone, and needs help getting out."

There was silence from the other end, which could be interpreted however one wanted. "All right. Are you in the medical center right now?"

"All right, I'll be down there in a few minutes," he said, before hanging up.

And a few minutes later... he was. "All right. How, exactly, did this happen?"

"Regan said that she walked into the girl, and got stuck." Isabel said she walked Cassiel back to the room.

"Hell if I know," Regan says, "One moment, I'm floating, the next I'm blonde and missing 30 IQ points."

"All right... let's see if we can figure this out," he said. Frowning, he extended his powers to the tangled minds in the body Regan was speaking from, trying to sort out who was who and who was where.

Regan's essence was a burning, evil feeling flame. It was like some form of corruption that had taken root and was slowly consuming the girl's consciousness and replacing it with her own.

It reacted hostilely, instinctively trying to fight Mike off like it did to Haley, but it was like an eight year old taking swings at an adult.

I think not... Mike didn't try to fight her... he simply let her lash out at him, containing her and catching hold of her with every struggling blow, trying to slide his own presence in between Regan and the woman she was displacing.

Mike's psychic judo proved to be very effective, as he managed to use her own psychic force against her and separated the two with minimal damage to either girl.

Mike made sure that Regan was separated from the body, then focused on the mind of the girl in there, trying to figure out what damage had been done, what he could do to repair it.

The damage wasn't too bad, a few jumbled memories. A spot of amnesia. Nothing that wouldn't sort itself out in time.

What was more disturbing was some astral energies that appeared to be....well...for lack of a better word, eaten.

Cassiel frowned, looking down at her. "What did you do here," he murmured, working to first keep her unconscious, and second to try to get a fix on what the hell was going on.

It seemed like possessing people wasn't healthy for the victim without the aid of an anchor. Something about Regan attracted the astral energies that made up a person's "soul" and fed on them. If left in a body long enough, Regan would most likely destroy them completely, leaving nothing but an empty shell.
