"Do you have a moment?" Nailah thinks ahead as she walks down the hall towards Sam's office.

"I seem to be popular lately, but you're welcome to come in."

"You're the headmistress." She opens the door. "What do you expect?" she smirks, closing the door behind her. "I'm surprised you haven't started holding purely telepathic meetings to save time."

"You think they'd let me? People are rather attached to meat interaction."

"That they are. Speaking of which, I had the pleasure of meeting one of our new arrivals in my class today. The one they rescued from the Black Air base?"

"The girl or the boy?"

"The girl. Apparently the Med Center decided to slap the label of 'Clairvoyant' on her in a fit of irony and called it a day."

"And I'd imagine she's had enough of labels."

"That goes without saying. She also promptly set off a prophetic burst, so I'm fairly certain she has the potential to help figure out Black Air's plans should she recover her memories, but what's much stranger is that she saw me make that prophecy. Looked right through me and into the Hall of Mirrors and all it did was give her a mild headache."

"So she's a reasonably potent telepath, it seems."

"That's what I thought, but even I got lost the first time I entered that place. And then she started following my movements in tune with what I'm seeing, ahead of what I was actually doing. The list of people who can offhandedly tune themselves into my perception of things like that is extremely limited..."

"I'm recalling one of her powers is acute spatial awareness. Perhaps that also became how she related to her telepathy?"

"I've seen Mister Gravis fight. She wasn't just reading my mind and extrapolating. Besides, you know how disorienting it is to sort through that kind of time-shifted mental link the first time."

"Who knows what Black Air did to her that she doesn't remember, but no. I'm wondering if our Blind Seer could have an aptitude for precognition herself."

"I suppose it's possible, but I don't believe she's told us of any flashes of her own."

"No, but she has no memories of not wearing an inhibitor collar that don't also involve being tortured. From personal experience that's not a great time to explore the nature of your mutation."

"One spot of trouble in diagnosing this is that most of our precognitive tests break down when there's a telepath."

"I know that. But I also know what it's like to be traumatized and I don't think we should try to push anything on her that might remind her of the place she just escaped from."

"I wouldn't call them concerns. More... Well I feel like I would be able to help her through it if that's what is going on. For once I could actually do some good instead of scrambling to not make it worse."

"It's hard not to after letting down first Mira, then Raven and her friends. And I haven't even had a chance to not mess it up yet and our daughter is already stealing parts from the Danger Room! Also, do you realize how weird it feels to say that? And that's coming from me! I should be used to this kind of thing!"

"Mira is... complicated. This is simpler. More familiar, I suppose. I just feel for once I might actually be able to help someone. I'm not trying to play favourites."
