"Well. I just don't know," he said, huffily. "We don't want the cart to be leading the horse."

"Great. Then you'll be out of here, just like all the others. Fantastic. Pleasure working with you, but if you'll excuse me, I'd better stick to talking to people who actually have an interest in what goes on here."

Say what you like about the last guys, they knew what the hell they were doing. It'll take us years to work through all of their ideas."

"I'm not interested in forcing anything on you."

"Personally though? I'd say Research and Development are the ones who would be answering requests from you as to the plausibility of certain ingredients, rather than submitting their own recipes. They would give you the tools you need to follow your inspiration."

"In turn, there likely should be a testing or quality assurance team that is working out how best to fit your recipes into the overall product line, rather than going directly to production. Fine-tuning the menu, the presentation, so they can be put to maximum effectiveness. They could also offer feedback for refinement, perhaps?"

"Other than that, I'm sure you realize that some dishes will be... well, more popular than others, aye?"

"But you see what I'm getting at, aye? Having the departments exert a bit of checks and balances, so that we make certain that a request makes sense before it goes into full production. I understand anticipating needs, but that's what the testing and quality assurance would be for determining. Not everything's a winner, aye?"
