"Its subtle." Amanda said "But you'll notice that all of the 'poster children' tend to have...lets say 'photogenic' mutations, if they have them, and they tend to have powers that are unambiguously usable for good. Its different someplace like Xaviers....but there are a lot of kids who first find out that they are not welcome in 'normal' society, and then find out that other mutants expect them to do a better job of fitting in."

"So they create the reverse situation to, what, prove a point? You have to be considered this ugly by society to be respected. I'll admit I haven't gotten around to reading your work on it yet, it just seems rather baffling. Afterall, we should all be on one side and not get bogged down in a contest who is the least privileged."

I guess my point is that we are all in this together, and that one of the things that we can't lose sight of is that if it isn't safe to be a mutant who looks like Godzilla, then it isn't safe to be a mutant, period."
