Issue 1 Downtime

Ryan knocked on Rachel's door, belatedly hoping that it was actually her that answered and not someone else who was switched with someone else that he wouldn't know wasn't her until he called her her and...

He took a deep breath, shook his head, and just knocked on her door.

"Hi." Rachel said, opening the door. "Who are you?"

"I'm Ryan," he said, "Who are you?"

"Rachel." she said, smiling at him "Come on in."

"Oh thank god," Ryan sighed, walking in, going to hug her, stopping, then doing it anyway. Wow... and this is more awkward than I expected already.

'Rachel' hugged him back "This is so awkward." she said, laughing a little.

"I know," he sighed. "Kept hoping that it'll just suddenly stop being real, but no luck yet."

"It isn't just the body, either." Rachel said "Its feeling locked in my own head. I never realized how much I was aware of other people before."

"See, this is where I'd say something like 'I'll make you more aware of me,' but the body thing just makes that weird," Ryan sighed.

"Yeah." Rachel said "Also, I'd feel like I was making Sara cheat."

"Yeah, and Sara's not exactly my type either," Ryan agreed. "Could be worse, though, right?"

"yeah, it could be." Rachel said "I feel really bad for Trev."

"Yeah, I know. Can't just be switched with a girl, he had to be switched with one that's got a really messed up power and who's old, too. Three strikes, he's out."

"Yeah, plus when he shifts back, he's covered in disgusting slime."

"Oh man, really? I missed that part. Yuck."

"I didn't see it, but one of the nurses told me all about it. No wonder Weinrich doesn't shift that much."

"Well, that and the whole 'looking like an elder god hellbeast thing' bit."

"Could be a little bit of both."
