Power Explanation:
Primary: Gideon is able to make a persons worst nightmares come true by creating illusions. These illusions take place solely in the persons mind. These manifestations of the person's nightmares cause some trauma (physical and mental) to the individual as they witness their nightmares come to life.

Secondary: Gideon hears other people's fears. He hears them constantly as whispers from the people around him. Sometimes if a fear is powerful enough the whisper is accompanied with images. He's able to subdue the whispers, but cannot make them go away.

Telepathy: Gideon has begun to use his powers in a less offensive way, and can communicate telepathically.

War: Apocalypse manipulated Gideon's powers when he became War. Gideon became able to channel psychic energy into physical constructs and use the same energy to boost his physical abilities. These changes have made him a much more hand to hand oriented telepath.

Amphetamine system: Gideon has a psychoactive amphetamine production system in his body. It causes him to feel pleasure, reduces pain, and makes him wake up whenever his powers are used. However since his time as War it appears that his amphetamine has been either greatly subdued or repurposed.

Downfall: A person with a well trained mind could more than likely see through the illusions that Gideon broadcasts at this point in time.

History: Gideon lead a relatively normal Minnesotan life. He went to school and played hockey like everyone else, even managing to play goalie for the high school team. He was the youngest of three children from two descendants of miners when the area had been mining central or at least so he thought at the time.

However, it was at the age of 13 when he began to notice changes to his body that went beyond puberty. He started to hear things, horrifying things from other people around him. Their wants, desires and above all the things that they dreaded most. At first he tried to suppress his power, but every time it would come back even stronger and with vivid images attached to the nightmares of others.

Then one day during a hockey game, an opposing player got a break away. As Gideon focused on the player he heard the whispers, this was nothing new. However, something suddenly clicked in his mind and the player stumbled falling to the ice. As medical personnel rushed over to him, he could hear the kid screaming that he was on fire, and that they had to help him put the fire out. Gideon knew he had something to do with it because moments before he had heard that was the opposing players greatest fear.

Upon coming home he knew he couldn't stay there anymore, he never knew when he would cause somebody else pain, and if it ever got out he was a mutant the entire community would kick him out anyways, so he grabbed a few possessions and ran. During a brief stint in Saint Paul he heard about Xavier's and managed to snag transportation to the Institute. He went to XI until his graduation at 18 and now he's moved on to XU to continue his education and his training.

Gideon had always only ever just kept his balance on a thin line between good and evil. That was until he was approached by Apocalypse and became one of the villains horsemen. His powers and mind manipulated, he became War. In the end the mental manipulation was broken and he betrayed Apocalypse.

Now he struggles to reintegrate with the student body at XU after betraying his friends and committing various atrocities in the name of Apocalypse.

Physical Description: 6' , and with an athletic build from playing hockey for his entire youth, and then years of training at XI. His hair is close to black in color, though close inspection reveals it to be brown. He tends to have it cut at about shoulder length.

-His skin is crisscrossed by black veins
-Hi eyes are a dark blue marred by red, which vary in shade/brightness depending on his mood.
