Issue 1 Downtime

A bench groaned in protest as the big lumbering oaf known as Behemoth sat down. He then began hungrily tossing down his rations with absolutely no regard for manners.

As usual, Onyx took a table in the corner. Waiting to eat until her other half got there.

Victoria entered the mess hall, turning without looking round toward the table Onyx sat at, looking over the side of the room Onyx wasn't facing as she moved toward the table.

"Are we secure?" Onyx asks, a teasing tone to her voice.

"Boringly so, darling," Victoria teased back.

Onyx sweeps a shadow over the table and rations for the two are suddenly teleported in front of them.

"Your dinner is served," Onyx says.

"Mmm... and here I thought you weren't paying attention when I turned the lights off in the commanders' kitchen," Victoria said, glancing at the closest table and the decidedly lower-quality meals that the students had.

"You thought I wasn't paying attention to you?" Onyx asks with an exaggerated frown, "Have I really been so inattentive?"

"Mmm, I'm sure you'd make up for it if you were. That little matter in the barracks needed attention more than our dinner did, I just wish I could've helped you, it looked... Bracing."

"Just settling accounts with some of our peers," Onyx says, "It was actually much more boring then you might think."
