Issue 1 Downtime

Nate was spending his early morning meditating in the Quad, or maybe he was just sitting quietly, it was hard to tell. He was in his massive half-wolf form though. He'd been getting stuck in it more and more lately, so this wasn't exactly unusual.

Samantha was a bit distracted that day, and thus though she probably could have spotted him from a distance, he came as somewhat of a surprise to her as she crossed the quad.

"...oh! Ah... hello, there."

Nate turned his head to look at her, reflexively sniff-snuffling in the process. "Hi," he said, smiling, which looked vaguely threatening in the bargain.

"I think I've seen you before. You always hang out with Mister Logan, aye?"

"Yup, that'd be me," Nate said, "My name's Nate. Nate Davis. And you didn't disturb me. It's just easier to be outside sometimes."

Nate nodded, "Oddly enough, there's less 'noise' out here. There's always so much going on in the dorms that it messes with my ears sometimes."

Nate sniffed at the air. "I like this time of year. Last smells of the summer, first smells of the fall."

"First semester in the general student population. I've been here for a year," Nate said.

"Intensive therapy," Nate said with a shrug. "A little too... unstable to be out. At least until now."

He held up a large clawed hand, "Yup. Grr, argh, murder on furniture, the whole raging werewolf bit. It'd be cool if it weren't so freaking scary."

"I guess Mister Logan is pretty good at helping you deal with that?"

"Him, some others like Professor Grey. A lot of 'getting inside my head' and figuring out what's going on." He scratched at an ear absently in a distinctly canine gesture. "What about you? How long have you been here?"

"About the same. Ms. Grey is really nice, too. I rather like my class with her."

"I'm taking the first Power Control class this year, even though I've been getting private tutoring for a while. Reinforce the base I guess. Or something like that. I forget," he said, shrugging and grinning.

His head tilted back the other direction, "Yes. I agree to an extent. Though all fours seems to be a relatively efficient mode of transportation. So what do you do for fun?" There was a metaphorical grinding sound as the topic shifted with no clutch.
