....And in a puff of belief, the team members were teleported into a large chamber filled with very confused cardinals having dinner.

Daniel had already come to a decision on what he was going to do to anyone who wasn't Mira that they came across. Until he was told otherwise, at least. He opened up with a blast of heat from his eyes at one as he flew past to plow another into the wall.

"Who wants some fireworks?" Melody flashed a downright maniacal grin at the stunned audience. She formed entire fistfuls of marble-sized bombs and flung the wildly at the assembled masses before her teammates spread out and made her aim a bit more carefully. The room echoed with the sounds of exploding firecrackers and flashes of blue light.

The group had the element of surprise at least. People scrambled for their weapons as explosions, beams of light, and flying mutants ripped through their ranks.

"Hundred cardinals surveyed, number one answer still on the board! Where's the douchebag in charge!" Daniel called over the uproar, grabbing one of the cardinals by the back of the neck. "Time's running out, we need an answer!"

""All...heretics will burn..." the cardinal gasps out at Daniel.

"'All heretics will burn.' Hmm.... well, you never know what'll be on the board. Survey says!" And with that, Daniel slammed the Cardinal's face through the wall of the room. "Next up!" he called, grabbing at another cardinal.

Kevin, meanwhile, kept his blades on a few of the cardinals.
"A Family Feud reference in a combat interrogation? Really? Dude, you've been hanging out with me waaay too long."

The cardinal tried to struggle with Daniel, attempting to get free by punching him in the head.
Cardinal's armor was shredded and exploded in a shower of sparks as Kevin tore through them with his blades. One Cardinal jumped towards Kevin, wielding a staff that sparked with electrical energy. He swung the staff in wide arcs, attempting to drive Kevin into a corner.

Kevin hopped back, but left a sword floating in range to fend off and try cut the staff apart.

The cardinal looked surprised as the staff was cut up into small parts, leaving him open.

Kevin rushed in, cutting this cardinal's armor off as well before punching him in the head.
"Anyone else try that and I believe that won't be the only kind off staff I cut in half," he smirked.

Melody continued her assault on pretty much anyone within throwing range, occasionally dodging out of the way of a melee attack and countering with an explosives-powered block.

After a few minutes of intense fighting, the room was nothing but unconscious bodies, scorch marks, and broken tables. As they caught their breath, the walls started shuddering and shaking. The portable space sensor equipment that the group remembered to bring along notified them that there was intense cosmic radiation coming from just a few floors above.

"That's gotta be Mira! Let's go!" Kevin said, ignoring the whole 'radiation' thing.

Daniel looked up. "Sounds like a plan," he said. "Let's take the easy route!" he said, flying up to smash through the ceiling to the floor above. And the one above that, if needed, and so on.
