Results from last week!
Rachel v. Ryan
Our closest voting ever! Rachel does just manage to slip through Ryan's mental defenses, however, and shuts him down before he can knock her out. Rachel wins via skullduggery
Zero v. Sara
Zero can get tough, but Sara's infinitely more versatile, and that puts her on top in this matchup. Sara wins via rocking
Maddrox v. Kevin
Don't bring a sword to a gun fight. Maddie wins via shootshootshootboom
This weeks matchups!
Teri Napliotis (0-0) v. Anita "Shiver" Fernandez (0-0)
Location: Tower Bridge, 1 AM
A girl who can sense every movement against a girl who can move 10 000 ways simultaneously...
Niles "Artificer" Radcliff (0-0) v. Veronica "Alice" Freud (0-0)
Location: An ancient temple, filled with a variety of pits and traps (think Raiders of the Lost Ark, first sequence) (via the Danger Room), 3 PM
A relationship, squashed in it's opening moments...
SECOND ROUND MATCH
Sara "Flowstone" Evans (1-0) v. William "Gwion" Stanton (1-0)

Will v Sara is a classic match of specialization versus utility. Anything Sara can do, she can do better than Will, but Will can do much more than Sara can. His first point of business is to keep her from absorbing any of the environment to get stronger; this means he's going to attempt to encase her, forming a ball around her of rubber or metal--anything she can't shift through.
From there, the strategy is either suffocation or constriction leading to immobilization--spikes are not gonna work too well here, but crushing her stones to make his bread might well.

Gonna go with Ronnie here.
Assuming Anita can't sense things that aren't on the ground is going to be a huge advantage for Teri, who'd swarm right away. And even if she could aim to hit individual locusts it the few Teri'd lose until closing in on her propably wouldn't bother her much. I'm not sure how freaked out Anita would get by thousands of bugs crawling on her, but it can't be too pleasent with her power. Either way, Teri'd try to chew her up, tiny bite by tiny bite while simultaneously going for eyes/nose/ears/mouth, possibly sacrificing a bunch of locust to suffocate her.
Sara vs Will is propably mostly a battle of ingenuity, although with the strategy Will posted she'd try to form an obsidian blade to try and cut herself free. Knocking Will out might be a problem though, so to win she'd propably attempt to drag him down through floors and get to a thick enough layer of stone to trap him inside it entirely.

Inside the the temple there will be some limits on how big Ronnie can get and still move around easily, making things a little easier for Niles than if he had to face her full size. Niles will try and trip Ronnie up with his power and/or lure her into traps, while keeping his distance using projectile weapons. He would probably go for a sling, think Niles vs Ronniliath. If she manages to get close Niles would form a halberd to try and stab and cut her with.

Ronnie's plan would be pretty simple. If she's close enough she'd try to punch Niles right off the bat to stun him and give herself a chance to stretch up a bit. She doesn't have to get super massive to be over-powering, even just 8' would probably be enough. And if she fell into a pit of spikes or something she'd try to shrink herself quickly to avoid any damage. If Niles succeeds in getting himself some weapons she'd keep shifting sizes to throw him off; shrinking smaller to be more agile and get in close, then larger to land some hits.
I'm afraid I'm going to have to side with Teri on this one. Sorry Anita. But I'm casting a vote for Sara. I think she can pull off some surprises that will leave Will rattled.

I'm actually gonna float a vote for NILES here; I can see him able to avoid the traps, luring Veronica into somewhere where she'll get stuck or something, and walloping her with purple stuff.

TERI. In the open air tower bridge, I'd give it to the bug girl. There isn't much where Anita could duck into, and Teri would be attacking from just too many directions at once. I'd like to see Anita post a strategy, but baring that, I'm drawing a blank as to how she could win.
NILES. He strikes me as a mutant MacGyver, and I think he'd make the environment work well for him, and against Ronnie. I think a combination of environmental and power-generated traps would be too much for her.
SARA. It's all about the environment in this fight. in a science lab? Sara would have the advantage, with knowledge of chemicals and equipment. I'm thinking she finds a liquid nitrogen tank, and makes a Will Popsicle.

A Will Popsicle is actually possible, if he shifts into water and gets stuck <_<

I, too, gotta vote for TERI--I think she'll just overwhelm Anita with the swarm.
