Issue 1 Downtime

The smell of steak wafted through Allison's apartment as she cooked dinner in the little kitchen the apartment afforded her. She eyed the pieces of meat critically, then reached for the beer sitting next to the sink and took a slug out of it.

"Something smells delicious," Dee says as she comes into the apartment.

"Steak. Not the same as grilling, but the grill pan will have to do," she said with a slight hint of intoxication. "Saw you take the jet out today. Mission or just kicking the tires?"

"Maybe a bit," she said with a shrug, her eyes going golden and the intoxication disappearing.

"Yes and no. Our resident low life never made it to proper prison," Allison said, "because someone killed him in transit."

"The contact from the police didn't give me a lot of details. But yeah, I guess. So it's good, but I can't help but worry, you know?"

She nodded, her eyes returning back to normal. She took another drink from her beer, "And if he said something to them about us."
