"Ummm... umm... Do you know what he wants?" Theresa was providing a good example of the phrase 'deer in the headlights'.

"He apparently heard about how you left the party."

"Oh god." She buried her face in her hands, which made the next bit muffled. "And now he thinks it's his fault."

"Right. Think positive I guess." She took a couple of deep breaths. "How do I look?"

Theresa thought for a minute. "I suppose it'll have to do." Another deep breath. "Okay, invite away."

"Alright. If at any point during this you want me to bow out and let you two talk, shoot me an IM."

She invited Colin to the chat.

Colin's cam booted up but he wasn't in frame.

"Just a second... need to...move these boxes..."

He slid a stack of boxes over and sat down.

"Sorry, can't find my chair in this mess. Hi!" he waved at the girls.

"Yeah...so...a couple of birds told me you had a bit of a melt down at the party. Well, it was more of the rumor really, an electrical storm in a stairwell. Figured that might have been you. You ok?"

Given how he described it, Theresa was doing her best not to look mortified, "Me? Umm... yeah... I'm okay."

"That's good, you didn't do much harm either. Keeping everyone on their toes. I also wanted to say sorry, a friend mentioned that you might have felt...ignored at the party. That really was not the plan that night."

"Well, now that I'm not in the moment, you had other guests to see too. I shouldn't have been tryin' to take up all your time." As much as I would have liked to...

"Yeah, nice girl, sorta shy. Not at all comfortable with herself or the situation. I think I helped a bit, hope I did anyway."

"So...How's things where you are? Where are you guys anyway?"

"Hot and muggy in Southern Alabama."

"You know, for some odd reason I have never wanted to visit there and I don't think you're quite suited for the tourism board either." he smiled.

"Your hair looks great, you're going to hate winter up here."

"Thanks." She might be blushing, but the camera's resolution made it hard to tell. "Our only real sellin' point is how close we are to the Gulf Coast and if that's what you want, why not just go there?"

"Must be a great place to own rental properties." He seemed a bit lost for a moment.

"Looking forward to September? Planning on coming in with a wicked tan?"

"I don't know how much I'll make it to the beach this summer." She swallowed hard, really hard, "I'm not even really sure I'll be at school in September."

Theresa started to rub her temples, caught herself, and stopped the gesture. "Can we not have this conversation right now?"

"Then when? When the next thing you 'zot' isn't a something but a someone?"

"You don't have to come here, but I suggest not waiting until something does go really wrong and as Brigid said, you've got friends."

That apparently crossed the line. Her eyes went hard and she just stared at the camera. Her voice went cold, "You want to tell me somethin' I don't know? You think I don't know just how dangerous this could be?" She just watched the screen, waiting for her explanation.

"I don't know, I'm confused, I can't read minds. You're the one who just said you may not come. I can't imagine a good enough reason why not, you yourself just said you know you'll need help down the line. If you don't want to come, you don't want to come." He held his hands up in surrender.
